VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers which is conducted by TNPSC.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

Application fees for general and OBC Category is 125/- and For reserved category fees are 50/-

VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers. Tamilnadu Public Service Commission conducts an examination for this post whenever there is a vacancy for the same. The notifications are released in two parts: one for the SC/ST candidates and the other one for the rest of the category candidates.

The notifications for this year's exam is yet to be released. May be in the month of June or July they might release a notification. If that happens then the exam is likely to take place in September. But then its a tentative date.

To give this exam you need to have a secondary school leaving certificate. That is the minimum qualification required for this post. Even if you have higher qualifications you still have to show this certificate.

The minimum age limit for giving this exam is 21 years. The upper age limit for giving this exam is 30 years for general category candidates. For STs, BCM, BCs, and poor widows belonging to any caste, SC / SC (Arunthathiyars), MBCs/DCs. the upper age limit is 40 years.

You will be posted in the villages of Tamilnadu therefore it is important for you to have fluency in the language they speak which is Tamil. Even if you dont have that fluency then also you can give this exam provided after getting selected you give the Tamil exam which will be conducted by TNPSC and pass in it.

To prove your medical fitness you need to show them medical certificates during the exam time because selectors expects that only physically fit candidates will sit for this exam.

You will get two hours to complete the whole paper. 200 questions will be there all in all. Questions will be of S.S.L.C. standard. For the exam questions will come from the following sections: General Knowledge and General Tamil/General English. You need ninety marks to qualify.

The selection procedure will take into consideration other parameters too like the district chosen by the candidate and the number of reservations in the district chosen by the candidate. However main weightage will be given to the written exam undoubtedly.
