i am navjot singh would like to ask you that what is the main difference between ota and ima syllabus.thanks

Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recuirt the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

For IMA and OTA you must have any degree from any recognized University.

for both they select the students through the
i) Written Test
ii)Intelligence & Personality test
iii)Medical test.


Difference in Syllabus:little bit

for IMA
All the three papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge
Elementary Mathematics

total 300 marks,each paper 100 marks.

for OTA
All the two papers are of objective type containing the
English
General Knowledge

total 200 marks,each paper of 100 marks.

I have filled the cdse form selecting ota as first preferance but I want to go for ima also.so kindly help me how can I change this now.

sir i opted for ota but hall ticket is consisting of elementary mathematics also , so please check this out

Please check if it mentioned some where near "elementary mathematics" not for OTA candidates

ota is crash course & ima is detailed course.

total pm income of ota & ima cleared officers ?????

OTA(Officer training Academy) and IMA(Indian military academy)

To join for this you have to apply for CDS(combined defence services) exam which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service commission)

* Candidates should be the citizen of India.
* Candidates should be the graduate form a recognized university
* Candidates for OTA should have the age limit within 19-24 years
* Candidates for OTA can be either married or unmarried.
* candidates for IMA should have the age limit within 19-23 years
* candidates for IMA should be unmarried.
* Candidates should be physically fit

* General knowledge.

HI,
I.M.A stand for Indian Military Academy.
O.T.A stand for Officer Training Academy.

After passing N.D.A or C.D.S you have to join I.M.A
After passing technical entry or non-upsc entry you have to join O.T.A

In I.M.A only the those candidate are eligible who get the permanent commission.
In O.T.A those candidate are eligible who get Short Service Commission.

1. i have done BE in comp in 2012, i cudnt apply in dec 2012 so next wen can i apply
2. what should i opt for ota or ima, what is the minimum no. of years to be in each of them.
3. What is tgc,i dont hv to gv written test for dat ?? and will it lead me to ima or ota.
4. i have more chance to get in army through written test of cdse or without written test through tgc.
