Default Re: Difference between system technician and system programmer?

A System Programmer is a technical expert who is responsible for the efficient performance of some or all computer system software(Operating Systems, networks, DBMS, etc.). Generally in a user organization, instead of writing programs, a system programmer performs many technical tasks which integrate vendor’s software. Sometimes they even have to play a role of a technical advisiors to system analysts, application programmers and operations personnel. They are generally paid higher salaries than application programmers. In some hardware/ software organizations, traditionally a system programmer is often called as “software engineer”. A system Programmer makes assumptions about the hardware and other properties of the system that the program runs on.
A system Technician is a professional having skills to plan, administer, configure, maintain individual and networked computer systems. In fact, they are also trained to provide advanced technical support for computer users in Business environment. His knowledge is not expected to be limited to the concepts of network operation, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, upgrade and recovery procedure and disaster prevention planning. Instead he should have knowledge about almost all the areas of the information industry.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
