Does CBSE Board give marks for attempting a question?
I am a CBSE class 10th student. In Science paper 2020, for the question "List two differences between Inherited and acquired traits", I wrote the points that belong to inherited under acquired and for acquired I wrote inherited. Basically, I wrote the points reverse that is under wrong columns but the points are correct. Will I get marks for attempting that question?

Re: Does CBSE Board give marks for attempting a question?
Yes, in CBSE there is provision of step marking and candidates do get marks for attempting questions in right procedure even if they do not get the final answer correct and to understand the marking scheme followed while evaluating answersheet, you can download marking schemes for various past year papers by referring to the link www.cbseacademic.nic.in.
Further, in your case, possibility of getting any marks is very less as you have attempted the question in wrong manner as you have filled the columns of Inherited traits and Acquired Traits completely opposite i.e; in reverse order which cannot be considered as correct steps. |

Re: Does CBSE Board give marks for attempting a question?
Yes, you will get half a mark to every question attempted. Just keep in mind that you write something or the other related to the topic. Generally, checkers give you grace marks also if you need 2-3 marks to pass in the exam.
