IES Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications :

Degree in :
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Communications Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special

subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
• Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

so there is no percentage is required only pass out of final student are enough..

Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years

as such percentage criteria is not defined as depends on many factors...but one need to give best and try to get in top ranks........and it believe to be 300 as cutoff if we take reference of previous years.......

Eligibility for IES exam is:
pass the graduation degree with any stream in the subjects or engineering stream.
age limit is candidate must above the 21years old.
Nationality:

A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India,
(b) a subject of Nepal,
(c) a subject of Bhutan

Age should be between 21 to 33 years for OBC category candidates

Scheme Of the Examination :-

Part I—The written examination will comprise two sections

Section I consisting only of objective types of questions and

Section II of conventional papers.

Both Sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering disciplines

Total 1000 Marks will be there

Part II—Personality test carrying a maximum of 200 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the basis of the written examination.

In Order to Crack IES you need to score atleast 40 % in each Part.

But we can't predict its exactly 40% because every year Cut off depends upon Quantity of candidates appeared and Marks obtained by them.

So take 40% as Standard so you will not face Difficulties in Future.

The eligibility for the IES exam is, a candidate must have engineering degree or in the final year of the following branches.
*Mechanical
*Electrical
*Civil
*Electronics & Comm

A computer science and IT students can't appear for the IES exam.
The age limit for the exam will be 21-30 years, SC/ST candidates have 5% of relaxation.
The cutoff marks will be depends upon the number of candidates appears. The last years cutoff marks will be 300. So this year it might be change as increment of 5%.
So prepare well for the exam.

Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by the UPSC every year. Candidates having degree of engineering are eligible to apply for this examination.
The detailed eligibility criteria is given below:

Eligibity criteria for IES exam
1-NATIONALITY
-MUST be either citizen of india or
-a citizen of nepal or
-or a citizen of bhutan or

2-AGE LIMITS

3-MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

-obtained a degree/ diploma in engineering from such foriegn university/college /institution as may be recognised by the govt or;

The eligibility criteria of IES is you should have a degree in Engineering

it may be bachelors or masters

you should have 21 years of age

This exam is conducted by UPSC

all the rules accordingly to UPSC

In the same way the cutoff marks are not fixed it depends and also varies year to year

unlike other competitive exams CIVILS is a exam of 3 stage pattern

So specific cutoff cannot be mentioned

Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination

IES Examination is conducted by UPSC Every year.

And the last date of apply for IES examination was already over, So you have missed the chance in this year. The last date to apply for this examination was 07/Feb/2011.

The entrance examination are going to be held on 14/May/2011.

Eligiblity Criteria -

To apply for IES examination, You need a Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts.

And to apply for this examination, your age should between 21 to 30 years.

It include the branches includes:
*Mechanical
*Electrical
*Civil
*Electronics

A computer science/IT students can not apply for the IES exam.
The cutoff marks depends upon the total number of candidate apply. So this is unpredictable to say.
