Eligibility criteria for West Bengal SET examination?
I got 54% in Post Graduation in History and my age is 41 years now. Am I eligible for SET exam of West Bengal? If yes, then when and how should I apply for WB-SET? Can I apply at this age?

Eligibility Criteria for West Bengal SET examination:-
Education qualification:- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in master's degree or equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognised by UGC are eligible for WBSET 2019 (for reserved category 50% marks) Age limit :- There is no upper age limit to apply for WB SET examination. Selection process:- The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the performance in the written exam(both the papers of SET in aggregate). |

Admission processes:- The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the performance in the written exam. |

The candidate must have a masters degree that is recognised by the UGC.
The Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their master's degree or an equivalent degree from universities / institutions that are recognised by UGC and state government will be eligible for this test. WB SET age requirement:- There is no age limit to apply for WB SET 2019. Candidates with a reserved category will be 5% relaxation. WB SET selection procedure:- The candidates selection process will be done based on the performance in the WB SET entrance exam conducted by the West Bengal Service Commission. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks scored in the entrance exam. |

West Bengal State Eligibility Test is a state level examination conducted for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. The minimum academic qualification required to apply for SET examination is master's degree in any stream from a recognized university.
The minimum percentage of marks required in master's degree is 55% to apply for SET examination. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship. You do not have required percentage in master's degree to apply for West Bengal SET examination. |

The basic qualifications required to apply for West Bengal State Eligibility is a Master's degree in concerned discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% is allowed for EWS category candidates as well as reserved category candidates. Students pursuing final year of their Master's degree course are also eligible.
So, having completed your post graduation in History with 54% marks, you are eligible for appearing in WB-SET only if you belong to reserved category. Also, there is no age limit to apply for the same examination. For detailed information regarding the same examination, you can refer to the link www.wbcsc.org.in. |
