Eligibility and syllabus for 2 year full time M.Sc Forensic Science?


I would like to take M.Sc in Forensic Science. Now, I am doing my last year bachelor's degree in Zoology. Am I eligible to study M.Sc in Forensic Science? If yes, what are the procedures and syllabus of 2 year M.Sc in Forensic Science?

Master of Science in Forensic Science is a postgraduate degree course. The duration of the course is for 2 years. To study this course, candidate should complete (B.SC) preferably with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio Chemistry, Microbiology, B. Pharm, BDS or Applied Science. The marks of admission for this course may vary from institute to institute.

The syllabus of the course is divided into four semester and its a career oriented course in nature. Syllabus for M.SC Forensic Science as prescribed by various universities and colleges are:

Semester I
Subject of Study :
1. Forensics, Crime, and Investigative Techniques
2. Instrumental Method-Physical
3. Instrumental Method-Biology and Chemical
4. Forensic Ballistics and Photography.

Practical
1. Instrumental Methods- Physical, Chemical and Biological and Crime Scene
2. Practical- Forensic Ballistics, Photography

Semester II
Subject of Study:
1. Finger Prints and Impression
2. Questioned Documents
3. Forensic Chemistry and Explosives
4. Forensic Toxicology and Phramacology

Practical
1. Practical Questioned documents, Finger Prints and Impression
2. Practical- Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology

Semester III
Subject of Study
1. Forensic Physics
2. Forensic Biology
3. Forensic Serology and DNA Profiling
4. Recent Advances, Quality management, and Evidences Evaluation

3. DNA Isolation

Semester IV
