GATE application forms can be filled and sent online but the last date is over...

U can apply only next year... This year's exam is on feb 14... Next year be ready and the information regarding GATE application forms will be provided on october itself

you have to make the DD on the behalf of "Chairman GATE, IIT Kanpur" or you can check in your information botcher.

For GATE 2011 you don't need to issue demand draft for online application. Rather you have to first apply online at the site http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2011 and after your successfully completion a pdf file will be generated with following pages :-
Page-1 : Instructions
Page-2 : GATE 2011 Application Form – Institute’s Copy
Page-3 : GATE 2011 Application Form – Candidate’s Copy
Page-4 : Address Slip
Page-5 : Bank Challan (for Challan Payment option only).
You have to print the whole pdf and then you have to go to the any one of the branches of State Bank of India or Indian Bank with page 5 and pay the fees of Rs. 800/- with bank's charges Rs. 30/- .
Bank will retain bank's copy, you have to send institute's copy with the application form and candidate's copy will be with you.

If You Have Apply For GATE Exams Offline Then The Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Registered or Speed post to The Chairman, GATE of the Zone, where the candidate prefers (corresponding to the 1st Choice of Examination City) to appear for the examination, So as to reach on or before Tuesday, November 02, 2010.

Candidates can submit Application Form in two different modes : GATE 2011 Online and GATE 2011 Offline.

For applying online for GATE exam 2011 you are not required to make a DD of the appropriate amount. You can pay the application fee either through gateway payment or challan payment.

Gateway Payment:Payment can be made using credit or debit cards or netbanking through the payment gateway of ICICI Bank / Bill Desk / HDFC.

Challan Payment:Payment by cash at State Bank of India or Indian Bank branches.

For applying offline for GATE 2011 exam the DD is required to be made in favour of chairman, IIT, Kanpur payable at kanpur.

Since the last date for submission of GATE application form is over. So you should apply for the GATE examination next year.

But for your knowledge for the next year, submit your DD tho the chairman of GATE of the respective zone. So you have to write “Chairman GATE, Name of zonal area."and send your DD in favor of Chairman GATE with the name of zone where you are willing to send your application.

As for this year the last date for submission of form is over but for the next year send your DD to the chairman of GATE as explained above.

So practice for the GATE exam for next year and get good score.
