Very few colleges in India offer genetic engineering as a separate course. It is usually only a subject in microbiology, biotechnology and biochemistry courses. SRM University offers a Btech in Genetic Engineering. Calicut University offers and B Sc course in Genetics. There are colleges that offer post graduate courses like Bio-Informatics Centre, JNU New Delhi, IIT (Kharagpur and Delhi), MKU Coimbatore, BITS Pilani Rajasthan, IGE Kolkata, etc.

yes...it does make a difference...because..biotech..involves the overall study about gene manipulating mainly concentrating on plants, but genetic engineering provides a keen knowledge about both animals and plants, as well human genetics that can be worked upon.Apart from this you may get a chance to learn stem cell technology.Basically you get to know things at the genetic level which is very much interesting! Now the ball is in your court! All the best dude! |
