Very few colleges in India offer genetic engineering as a separate course. It is usually only a subject in microbiology, biotechnology and biochemistry courses. SRM University offers a Btech in Genetic Engineering. Calicut University offers and B Sc course in Genetics. yes...it does make a difference...because..biotech..involves the overall study about gene manipulating mainly concentrating on plants,but genetic engineering provides a keen knowledge about both animals and plants, as well human genetics that can be worked upon.Apart from this you may get a chance to learn stem cell technology.Basically you get to know things at the genetic level which is very much interesting!Now the ball is in your court! All the best dude!

after 10th Std. one has to take PCMB i she wants to persue career in Genetic engineering. Aft 12th does that person have to give CET?? or then she can do B.Sc ans M.Sc?? and later dn wat has to be done or u have to choose genetic engineering while doing M.sc?? and plz tell me good colleges in Maharastra?? and how much can a genetic engineer get paid in India??
