Hi,

You need to register with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to appear for the Common Proficiency Test of CA. It is an objective type test held every February, May, August and November.

It consists of four subjects namely Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. Which is for 200 marks.

Application forms are made available in Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute. The location for availability and despatch are avilable in the following website: http://www.winentrance.com/CA_Common...-Branches.html. Check for the same.

Application can be obtained on payment of Rs. 600/-- Rs.500/- as examination fee and Rs. 100/- as cost of CA CPT Exam 2010 application form.

Dear friend,

First of all you have to apply for the institutes which offer you to give IPCC course then make a DD to the ICAI (Any person who wishes to do his CA in India have to certified by this institute ), they will send you books which contain objective type questions to prepare for CPT exam. It is for 200 marks and 100 marks is the pass mark ( negative marking is there). Any institute will offer you IPCC course, searching for the institute is not a big trouble. In Andhra many are giving that course but you have to pass CPT exam some of the institute are like Master Mind-Guntur, Superviz-Vijayawada, Sri Medha-Guntur and etc.,. The CPT entrance test will be conducted twice every year.

NOTE: Recently CPT entrance test comity is planning to change the exam from objective type to descriptive type. Be prepared and all the best for your exam.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to those students who are already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The CPT exam is entry level for those students who want to make there career in Chartered Accountancy.The test consist of four subjects,

you will have to take the registration in CPT with ICAI. the registration form can be download from internet on the site www.icai.org and you can also get the all details from this side. The Registration is being continued all over the year. Now, there are two mode of exam is conducted by Institute.
1. on line ( after getting the registration you will be applicable for the exam after 6 month. online exam is conducted by institute 4 times in a year )
2. written test which is conducted by institute 2 times in a year.
when a guys go for the exam and unfortunately do not clear the exam then he will get the next chance only after 6 months ( even in online Exam ).
The exam will be in objective types question. There will be 200 questions having 1 marks for every question and the candidates will have to score at least 100 marks. There are a negative marking approach which is -0.25 for every wrong answer.

CPT- Common Proficiency Test is an entry level test for the Chartered Accountancy course conducted by ICAI - Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

It is a exam for 4 subjects
-Fundamentals of Accounting
-Mercantile laws
-General Economics
-Quantitative aptitude

In order to appear for the CPT exam, you have to register with the ICAI which may be either the completion of your 10Th or 10+2, No percentage of marks is required as eligibility to register.

The aspirants can join the Chartered Accountancy course after clearing CA CPT Exam. Given below are the eligibility criteria for chartered accountancy.

• The students must have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent, from any recognized Board.
• Candidates, who have passed B.Com, M.Com, LLB, ICWA, CS or MBA at the first attempt, are also eligible to apply.
• The candidates, who have appeared or appearing in final year of the qualifying examination, are also eligible to apply.
• The students, who have registered for CPT Course with Board of Studies of ICAI on or before October 1, 2009, are also eligible to appear in the entrance test.
