Dear friend
UPSC and various states PSC conducts drug inspector exam every year. A person must have degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences or medicine with specialisation in clinical pharmacology or microbiology from a recognised university established in india by law for apply. hi!
To apply for drug inspector exam you should obtain the prescribed Application Form (both Short & Long) along with other particulars either in person from the Office of the State Public Service Commission or by Registered Post. Then you are required to fill in the application form & send it by Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier Service to the designated address. Eligibility requirements: education - A candidate must have hold a degree in Pharmacy of Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law. age - A candidate must be under 32 years and above 21 years of age. |

THE LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION 19th September, 2008 by 5.00 P.M.
APPLICATION - Applications in the prescribed form (both Short & Long) are invited from the prospective candidates for recruitment to 23 (twenty three) posts of Drugs Inspector(Examination code-10,Post code-132) in Class-II (Group-B) of State Service under the Health & Family Welfare Department in the scale of pay of Rs.6,500-200-10,500 with usual Dearness Allowance and other allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Orissa from time to time. The posts are temporary and likely to be made permanent. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION : A candidate must have hold a degree in Pharmacy of Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law. No person who has any financial interest in the import/manufacture of sale or drugs and cosmetics shall be appointed as an Inspector, under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1945. AGE : A candidate must be under 32 years and above 21 years of age on the 31st January, 2008 i.e he/she must not have been born earlier than 1st February, 1976 and not later than 31st January, 1987. . OTHER ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS : (a) (i) The candidate must be a citizen of India; (ii) The candidate must be of (a) good character, and (b) sound health, good physique and active habits and free from organic defects or bodily infirmity; (iii) The candidate should be able to speak, read and write Oriya and should have had Oriya as a language subject in the Middle English School standard or any equivalent examination, or has been declared to have passed a test in Oriya language equivalent to the Middle English School Standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department of Government of Orissa; (iv) A person, who has more than one spouse living will not be eligible for appointment unless the State Government has exempted his/her case from operation of this limitation for any good and sufficient reasons; (v) Government servants, whether temporary or permanent, are eligible to apply provided that they possess the requisite qualification and experience and are within the prescribed age-limit as provided under Para-3 & 4 of the advertisement. They must inform their respective Heads of Offices in writing regarding submission of their applications for this recruitment and obtain “No Objection Certificate”; (vi) A candidate will not be eligible for consideration if, at any time, he/she has been debarred by any State Public Service Commission or by U.P.S.C. from appearing at any examination; (vii) Only those candidates, who fulfil the requisite qualification and other conditions by the closing date of receipt of application, will be considered eligible; (b) Every candidate selected for appointment shall be examined by the Medical Board. A candidate, who fails to satisfy the Medical Board shall not be appointed; |

Qualifications :
Essential : A. Educational : Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or equivalent. Pharmacy degree obtained must be from PCI approved college and candidate be registered with state or central pharmacy council. B. Experience : 3 years' experience in the manufacture or testing of Biological and special products specified in Schedule 'C' and 'C'(1) to the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945. DUTIES : Duties and functions specified in Rules 51 and 52 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 include inspection of (i) all licensed drugs manufacturing establishments ii) the plant and the process of manufacture, the means employed for standardizing and testing the drug, the methods and place of storage, the technical qualifications of the staff etc. which are likely to affect the potency or purity of the product, taking samples of drugs from premises of manufacturer/dealers for test or analysis (iii) investigation of cases of spurious drugs and related complaints and (iv) launching of prosecutions for breaches of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules. Postings at - HQ : Central Drugs Standard Control Organizations (CDSCO) Headquarters, Zonal / Sub-Zonal / Port Offices etc. but liable to serve anywhere in India. On vacancy UPSC will give advertisement in employment news or upsc portal. if more candidates will be there then they will do screening with screening test otherwise based on education and experience fit for post they will call candidates for interview in 1:5 ratio at UPSC Dholpur house office. Interview will be taken by UPSC SECRETORY, JOINT DRUG CONTROLLER INDIA, AND ONE SENIOR PERSON FROM INDUSTRY. question will be technical only and all will be related to candidates experience and profile he worked on and not on General Knowledge. later in 90 day they will declare the results and selected candidates will be recommended to govt of India for said posts, Govt will conduct medical check up and police enquiry with in another 60 days and if satisfied they will be undergone for 3-4 months training at CDSCO DELHI and then will be posted at said locations |

this exam is conducted by UPSC every years,.
A candidate must have hold a degree of graduation in Pharmacy of Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law. you must be citizen of india. the age limit for this exam 21-32. there are also some year relaxation for SC\ST candidates. |

Respected SIR/MADAM,
I am DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY.But due some financial problem i was unable to complete/to take admission in B.Pharmacy.But to continue my study i have taken admission to B.Sc.{MLT} Lateral entry course.Now I have just completed mu M.Sc in CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY with 65%. AM I ELIGIBLE FOR POST OF DRUG INSPECTOR.IS THERE ANY RULE THAT HAVE BEEN CHANGED REGARDING THE EDUCATION QUALIFICATION FOR THE POST OF DRUG INSPECTOR? |
