1. Age: 21-30 years.

2. Educational qualification: Graduation in science stream with chemistry in qualifying course.

Graduates from medicine and who have gone through training in food safety.

Graduates in Agriculture, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Dairy Technology.


UPSC conducts the examination for food inspector you can fill the form which is published in national dailies and employment newspaper.

Eligibility for Food Inspector exam are as follows: -

1. Pass graduation in any subject / stream from a regonised institute / university.

2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years
for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

3. Nationality - Indian

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for Food Inspector exam.

Degree from a recognised university or equivallent
Physical Standard: Male
height- 157.5 cm.
chest 81 cm
physical test:
walking- 1600m in 15 min.
cycling- 8 km. in 30 min.
physical standard: Female
height- 152 cm.
weight- 48 kg.

walking- 1 km. in 20 min.
