Re: How to become a IAS officer? I am a student of B.Com 2nd year
First you will have to complete graduation and after that you will have to appear for the entrance exam. Civil Services Examination is what you will appear for to become Indian Administrative Service officer.
Please note that you will not start with the post of district collector if managed to clear the exam. However you will eventually reach to that position if performed well. The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages. First is preliminary exam where your goal is simply to score enough marks in two written tests to qualify for the main examination. It should be noted that marks scored in preliminary will not be included in the final total. Next stage is main exam. The Main exam is conducted couple of months after preliminary. The Preliminary exam is conducted in May/June while the main examination is conducted in August/September. There are 9 written tests to clear. Give your best shot since this will be your final score. In the end candidates are called for the Interview. The interview is conducted after completion of Main Examination. Eligibility 1. Citizenship: Only Indians are allowed. 2. Education: Minimum of Bachelor degree. 3. Marks: There is no criteria. 4. Age Limit: 21 to 30 years. Relaxation 1. Three years in upper age limit for OBC. 2. The SC/ST get 5 years in the upper age limit. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |
