It is nice to see that you are interested in Indian Air Force. You can certainly join the Indian Air Force after completing Engineering graduation. But you will have to appear for a entrance exam.
The name of the entrance exam is Combined Defence Services Examination. The CDS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission to select candidates for Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The Combined Defence Services Examination takes place two times a year. First the exam takes place in February and secondly in September. The notification for CDS exam is released in June and September. Eligibility 1. Candidate must be citizen of India or A subject of Bhutan, or A subject of Nepal, or A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962 with intention of permanent settling in India. Age Limit 1. Indian Military Academy 19-24 years 2. Naval Academy 19-22 years 3. Air Force Academy 19-23 years The candidate must be unmarried at the time of applying. Education To join Indian Air Force a candidate must have graduation degree with Maths and Physics as subjects in 12th. The three branches of the Air force are Flying, Ground duty and Technical branch. The officer cadre provides opportunities for men with 10+2 / Intermediate (only in the Flying branch), graduates (all three branches), engineers (all three branches) and postgraduates (all branches except the Flying branch) in the various positions.

Hello dear,
Yes you can surely join Air Force(12th) You will have to appear for an entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice a year. The exam is commonly known as NDA. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. Here below I am providing you with some details about NDA exam. Required Qualification: You should be 12th passed with PCM as compulsory subjects. Age criteria: Age should be between 161/2 to 19 years. Here you do not have any age relaxation in any case. SELECTION PROCEDURE:- A written exam will be conducted. The exam pattern is given below: The exam comprises of 2 papers. Both these papers will be of the objective type. The first paper is Mathematics The second paper is General Ability Test If you qualify the written exam you will called for SSB. After clearing SSB you will go under medical fitness test. Also you can join Air Force through Technical entry Scheme. There is no written exam in this. You are directly called for SSB if you secured 75% in PCM in 12th board good luck |

sir currently i'm purshuing 5th sem(3rd year) in Instrumentation & control frm Gujarat..... I want to join IAF in technical duty after completing engineering so what should i do???

Hai,
You are eligible for IAF(Indian Airforce), you have to apply CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam which is conducted by the UPSC.(Union Public Service Commission) two times in a year. Eligibility criteria:- The candidate should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university. Percentage is not required to appear this exam. You must be a citizen of india. Male and Female both are eligible for this exam. Candidate must be physically fit. Age criteria:- The age limits for indian naval academy is 19 to 22years, For Indian Airforce academy is 19 to 23 wears For Officer training academy is 19 to 25years, For Military academy is 19 to 24years. Yes, you can apply for IAF(Indian Air Force) after passing B.E. in Electrical Engineering through cracking CDS entrance exam and AFCAT.
CDS - Combined Defence Service, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for an entry in to Indian Military Academy, naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy. The eligible candidate aspiring for IAF of CDS, must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 23 years with good Physical and Mental health. Hi,
Upsc conduct the CDS exam, under this exam you can give the exam for the air force. The qualification is required graduation in science field or the engineering line. Age limit for the exam is 19 to 23 years. Exam conducted bi-annually. There is no age relaxation for the relaxation for the reserve category Same term and condition is for the CDS Exam-1 & 2. There are three branches in Air Force 1)Flying Branch 2)Technical Branch 3)Ground Duty Branch There are two modes of entry in Air Force 1)CDSE-Combined Defence Service Examination 2)AFCAT-Air Force Common Admission Test. Engineers are eligible for applying in all three branches of air force. CDSE allows only to apply in flying Branch,while AFCAT allows to apply in all three branches. Age Limit for applying in CDSE 1)Flying Branch-19 to 23 years 2)Technical Branch-18 to 28 years 3)Ground Duty Branch-20 to 23 years. Both CDSE and AFCAT is conducted twice in a year. CDSE notifications are released in the month of May and October. AFCAT notifications are released in the month of June and December. CDSE is conducted by UPSC(unioin Public Service Commission),notification si released in the website www.upsc.gov.in AFCAT is conducted by Indian Air Force,notification is released in the website of air force www.careerairforce.nic.in CDSEand AFCAT have three stage selection process 1)Written Exam 2)SSB(service Selection Board) interview 3)Physical Test.
