You can join defense service after 12th with PCM through NDA exam. NDA exam is conducted by UPSC to join defense service in the following wings:-

Indian Army

Indian Navy

Indian Air force

To join Navy and Air force, you should have passed 12th standard from a recognized university in science stream.

Any stream for Indian army

Your age should be between 16.5-19 years.

You must be physically as well as mentally fit. Only unmarried male candidates can apply this exam.

Selection Process:-

Written exam which consist Mathematics, English and General ability

Selected candidates are called for Interview

You have completed 12th standard with PCM so you are eligible for defence through NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidate's who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

In order to join defense after 10+2, you have two options:

1. National Defense Academy entrance exam:

Union Public Service Commission conducts this entrance exam twice every year. The eligibility criteria for the exam is as below:

Those who have completed their 10+2 or appearing from a recognized board can apply for the exam. For Air force and Indian Navy, mathematics and physics at 10+2 level is necessary. For Indian Army, you can apply from any stream.

Your age must be between 16.5-19.5 years. You must be unmarried male Indian citizen in order to apply for the exam.

Medical and Physical fitness is necessary.

The important dates for the NDA 1 exam is already over, so if your fulfill the eligibility criteria, you can apply for NDA 2 exam at www.upsconline.nic.in. Notification for NDA 2 will be out on 20/06/2015.

Written test is conducted at first stage which contains questions from Mathematics, General awareness and science and English.

Those who qualify are called for the Service Selection Board.

2. Technical Entry Scheme:

If you have secured better percentage of marks in PCM{ physics, chemistry and mathematics] subjects, you can directly apply for this scheme at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Depending upon cut off set, if your % of marks in PCM is more than it, you will be called for direct SSB.

1. You can appear for National Defense Academy(NDA) examination.
2.You can appear Airforce,Navy and other Exams.

Basic requirement to join Indian Army or Defense:=
1.Candidate age should be 16-19.5 Years
2.Candidate should be Indian.
3.Candidate have 60% Marks in PCM.
4.Candidate should be medically Fit.

Syllabus of Written Exam:- Maths,Physics and Chemistry with a General Knowledge Paper.After written Exam interview is conducted by the board.

The best option to join Defence service after 12th with PCM is by NDA entrance examination conducted by UPSC two times in a year . The application form are available in the month of January and July .

The examination is conducted in two parts:--
Written.
SSB.

The written paper is of 900 marks in which 120 questions of Mathematics with 300 marks and 150 questions of General Ability of 600 marks are asked .

The one who qualifies in the written are called for SSB .

There is one more way to join the Defence but it will be possible if you have above 80% aggregate in PCM .You can apply for TES,Navy Technical also .There you are called directly for SSB
