How to convert CGPA 6.5 in percentage form? What is the correct way to calculate percentage?


Our university gives marks on CGPA based and I have 6.5 CGPA. Now I have a doubt that is how can IT companies recruit us? Based on CGPA or percentage? Our college tells percentage for me as 57%. Is it correct way to calculate percentage?

Hi,
You can calculate your percentage using the formula given below
%age=CGPA * 9.5
if CGPA=6.5
your percentage will be 6.5*9.5 ~ 61.8%

The common formula to convert CGPA into percentage is multiply the CGPA with 9.5 ( as in most of the university and board ).

But, the multiple factor varies, so kindly go the marking scheme of the institute for detail and correct information.

My b ed CGPA is 7.79 but in my memo mentioned result is 55percentage. Please tell me what is correct percentage and how to convert CGPA to marks and total marks

The formula for CGPA to percentage conversion varies according to the university rules and regulations. You need to contact your concerned university to get that formula to convert your score to percentage. Normally, most of the universities follow the following formula.

CGPA*9.5= Percentage

7.79*9.5 = 74.001%

Hence, according to the above formula your percentage will be 74.001%.
