Re: How to develop aptitude skills? tips and tricks to solve aptitude questions in less time?
To develop communication skills do chatting and shopping.
Technical its not a great thing during placements any average student can explain them. aptitude is not achievable over night,so get a good book and keep on practising. For softskills get a book by some good professional or psychologists and have a look over it.Here following one page have greater effect than reading a complete book. All the best. |

Hi,
You need to practice or play solving puzzles, sudoku, chess to keep your mind sharp and alert. You can study the RS Aggarwal's books for english, aptitude for mastery in the these fields. You need to practice previous papers to speed up your solving time. Manage time and prepare daily time table for the task to be completed and at night analyse what is done and what left and why. Re: How to develop aptitude skills? tips and tricks to solve aptitude questions in less time?
Dear friend,
The only way to develpoe the aptitude skills is doing more number of problems as many as you can and as many number of times as possible. Why because if you do the tough problem or any kind of problem for a few number of times, obviously after the completion of 6times or 7 times of doing the same problem, the next time you may not need to go for written calculation because it is already will store in your mind and sometimes it may lessen your problem by not going for number of steps. You can solve in very few steps. So i suggest you to repeat repeat repeat............. |

Re: How to develop aptitude skills? tips and tricks to solve aptitude questions in less time?
Hi friend
you can crack the Aptitude exam easily, if you work out daily 10 to 20 sums here i will send the different topic with formula,so that it is easy to learn True discount formula IMPORTANT CONCEPTS Suppose a man has to pay Rs. 156 after 4 years and the rate of interest is 14% per annum. Clearly, Rs. 100 at 14% will amount to R. 156 in 4 years. So, the payment of Rs. now will clear off the debt of Rs. 156 due 4 years hence. We say that: Sum due = Rs. 156 due 4 years hence; Present Worth (P.W.) = Rs. 100; True Discount (T.D.) = Rs. (156 - 100) = Rs. 56 = (Sum due) - (P.W.) We define: T.D. = Interest on P.W.; Amount = (P.W.) + (T.D.) Interest is reckoned on P.W. and true discount is reckoned on the amount. IMPORTANT FORMULAE Let rate = R% per annum and Time = T years. Then, 1. P.W. = 100 x Amount = 100 x T.D. 100 + (R x T) R x T 2. T.D. = (P.W.) x R x T = Amount x R x T 100 100 + (R x T) 3. Sum = (S.I.) x (T.D.) (S.I.) - (T.D.) 4. (S.I.) - (T.D.) = S.I. on T.D. 5. When the sum is put at compound interest, then P.W. = Amount 1 + R T 100 1. A man purchased a cow for Rs. 3000 and sold it the same day for Rs. 3600, allowing the buyer a credit of 2 years. If the rate of interest be 10% per annum, then the man has a gain of: A. 0% B. 5% C. 7.5% D. 10% View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 2. The true discount on Rs. 2562 due 4 months hence is Rs. 122. The rate percent is: A. 12% B. 13 1 % 3 C. 15% D. 14% View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 3. A trader owes a merchant Rs. 10,028 due 1 year hence. The trader wants to settle the account after 3 months. If the rate of interest 12% per annum, how much cash should he pay? A. Rs. 9025.20 B. Rs. 9200 C. Rs. 9600 D. Rs. 9560 View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 4. A man wants to sell his scooter. There are two offers, one at Rs. 12,000 cash and the other a credit of Rs. 12,880 to be paid after 8 months, money being at 18% per annum. Which is the better offer? A. Rs. 12,000 in cash B. s. 12,880 at credit C. Both are equally good D. [NIL] View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 5. If Rs. 10 be allowed as true discount on a bill of Rs. 110 due at the end of a certain time, then the discount allowed on the same sum due at the end of double the time is: A. Rs. 20 B. Rs. 21.81 C. Rs. 22 D. Rs. 18.33 Best of luck, work out with that formula,Good luck |

Races and Games
Races: A contest of speed in running, riding, driving, sailing or rowing is called a race. Race Course: The ground or path on which contests are made is called a race course. Starting Point: The point from which a race begins is known as a starting point. Winning Point or Goal: The point set to bound a race is called a winning point or a goal. Winner: The person who first reaches the winning point is called a winner. Dead Heat Race: If all the persons contesting a race reach the goal exactly at the same time, the race is said to be dead heat race. Start: Suppose A and B are two contestants in a race. If before the start of the race, A is at the starting point and B is ahead of A by 12 metres, then we say that 'A gives B, a start of 12 metres'. To cover a race of 100 metres in this case, A will have to cover 100 metres while B will have to cover only (100 - 12) = 88 metres. In a 100 race, 'A can give B 12 m' or 'A can give B a start of 12 m' or 'A beats B by 12 m' means that while A runs 100 m, B runs (100 - 12) = 88 m. Games: 'A game of 100, means that the person among the contestants who scores 100 points first is the winner'. If A scores 100 points while B scores only 80 points, then we say that 'A can give B 20 points'. 1. In a 100 m race, A can give B 10 m and C 28 m. In the same race B can give C: A. 18 m B. 20 m C. 27 m D. 9 m View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 2. A and B take part in 100 m race. A runs at 5 kmph. A gives B a start of 8 m and still beats him by 8 seconds. The speed of B is: A. 5.15 kmph B. 4.14 kmph C. 4.25 kmph D. 4.4 kmph View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 3. In a 500 m race, the ratio of the speeds of two contestants A and B is 3 : 4. A has a start of 140 m. Then, A wins by: A. 60 m B. 40 m C. 20 m D. 10 m View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 4. In a 100 m race, A beats B by 10 m and C by 13 m. In a race of 180 m, B will beat C by: A. 5.4 m B. 4.5 m C. 5 m D. 6 m View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 5. At a game of billiards, A can give B 15 points in 60 and A can give C to 20 points in 60. How many points can B give C in a game of 90? Boats and steams
Formula Downstream/Upstream: In water, the direction along the stream is called downstream. And, the direction against the stream is called upstream. If the speed of a boat in still water is u km/hr and the speed of the stream is v km/hr, then: Speed downstream = (u + v) km/hr. Speed upstream = (u - v) km/hr. If the speed downstream is a km/hr and the speed upstream is b km/hr, then: Speed in still water = 1 (a + b) km/hr. 2 Rate of stream = 1 (a - b) km/hr. 2 1. Re: How to develop aptitude skills? tips and tricks to solve aptitude questions in less time?
Ratio and Proportion
Formula Ratio: The ratio of two quantities a and b in the same units, is the fraction and we write it as a : b. In the ratio a : b, we call a as the first term or antecedent and b, the second term or consequent. Eg. The ratio 5 : 9 represents 5 with antecedent = 5, consequent = 9. 9 Rule: The multiplication or division of each term of a ratio by the same non-zero number does not affect the ratio. Eg. 4 : 5 = 8 : 10 = 12 : 15. Also, 4 : 6 = 2 : 3. Proportion: The equality of two ratios is called proportion. If a : b = c : d, we write a : b :: c : d and we say that a, b, c, d are in proportion. Here a and d are called extremes, while b and c are called mean terms. Product of means = Product of extremes. Thus, a : b :: c : d (b x c) = (a x d). Fourth Proportional: If a : b = c : d, then d is called the fourth proportional to a, b, c. Third Proportional: a : b = c : d, then c is called the third proportion to a and b. Mean Proportional: Mean proportional between a and b is ab. Comparison of Ratios: We say that (a : b) > (c : d) a > c . b d Compounded Ratio: The compounded ratio of the ratios: (a : b), (c : d), (e : f) is (ace : bdf). Duplicate Ratios: Duplicate ratio of (a : b) is (a2 : b2). Sub-duplicate ratio of (a : b) is (a : b). Triplicate ratio of (a : b) is (a3 : b3). Sub-triplicate ratio of (a : b) is (a1/3 : b1/3). If a = c , then a + b = c + d . [componendo and dividendo] b d a - b c - d Variations: We say that x is directly proportional to y, if x = ky for some constant k and we write, x y. We say that x is inversely proportional to y, if xy = k for some constant k and we write, x 1 . y 1. A and B together have Rs. 1210. If of A's amount is equal to of B's amount, how much amount does B have? A. Rs. 460 B. Rs. 484 C. Rs. 550 D. Rs. 664 View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 2. Two numbers are respectively 20% and 50% more than a third number. The ratio of the two numbers is: A. 2 : 5 B. 3 : 5 C. 4 : 5 D. 6 : 7 View Answer Workspace Report Discuss in Forum 3. A sum of money is to be distributed among A, B, C, D in the proportion of 5 : 2 : 4 : 3. If C gets Rs. 1000 more than D, what is B's share? A. Rs. 500 B. Rs. 1500 C. Rs. 2000 D. Simplification
Formula : Home > Aptitude > Simplification > Important Formulas 'BODMAS' Rule: This rule depicts the correct sequence in which the operations are to be executed, so as to find out the value of given expression. Re: How to develop aptitude skills? tips and tricks to solve aptitude questions in less time?
First just try to speak out in English with your friends instead of Hindi or any other local language.You need not feel shy by speaking in English but think that your developing ourselves and your own skills.
You can refer books of GRE Barron and R.S Agarwal to develop your aptitude skills but whats the use of trying to learning aptitude skills without knowing English properly. If you feel difficulty in developing these skills then its better that you go for coaching centers. all the best |

How to develope Aptitude Hi Yamuna, See, Aptitude skill development is a long term process. AS you are in 3rd year, it is a high time for you to start this. You need to solve various books on Aptitude, I will suggest following books:- -Aptitude by R.S.Aggarwal -Berron's -Verbal and non verbal by R.S.Aggarwal -Logical reasoning by R.s.Aggarwal All the tips and tricks are given in these books. More you practice , more you will gain. This is the only success formula for this. Please post your queries here. Best of luck regards. |
