Hi friend
To do BTech from USA, you must appear for the SAT(Scholastic Ability Test).
Almost all the colleges and universities in USA accept this SAT exam score to enroll students. Therefore the SAT exam score is one of the main eligibility criteria to get admission in USA colleges. This is main reason behind the popularity of this test.The purpose of conducting this exam is to evaluate students for their writing, reading as well as mathematical skills.

Paper pattern:
The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes. The SAT exam is divided into SAT Reasoning Test and SAT subject based Test. If you want to take admission in any US college on the basis of SAT reasoning score, it is just not enough to secure a seat in US colleges. But on the other hand, some colleges also consider the score of the subjects based exam. In most of the cases when we say SAT exam, it meant to the SAT reasoning test.

The score required for MIT University will be about 2030 – 2320 out of a maximum 2400. Also you will be required to score 650 – 760 in the critical reading out of 800 and 720 – 800 out of 800.

There are several books which will help you in clearing your SAT exam. Personally I would suggest Barron's SAT preparation book as it is a complete one stop book for all the sections of the SAT and also comes with a CD with practice tests in it. You can find practice papers online on the official site http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice...tice-questions

You can also take classes for the maths and english part of it. If you work hard enough, you can also score full marks in it, though its a rare feat but there are several students around the world who achieve a golden score.

Thank you for posting your query here.

First of all, engineering post graduate courses in US are referred to as MS(Master of Sciences) instead of M.Tech. M.Tech is the term used in India.

Yes, MIT does offer MS courses.

For admissions into the Masters program, you need give either of these tests, GRE or GMAT.Other than these you need to prove your English proficiency as well for which you will have to give TOEFL/IELTS.

First of all, all you people have to change the way you ask questions. There is no BTech degree in the USA. The only degree available for engineering in the USA is called the BS degree, not the BTech degree. Also, your chance of admission in those prestigious foreign universities does not only depend on your SAT score, but also on million other factors like your 10th and 12th marks, how much of an all rounder you are, whether you have special talents, such as in sports or arts, whether you have been part of brilliant and innovating science projects and have been doing path breaking work, and also on whether you care for the society around you and whether you do social welfare work. So, improve yourself in those aspects if you want to stand any chance of getting admission in top foreign colleges like MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Purdue, etc.
