To get admission in Indian Institute of management Ahmedabad a candidate has to appear for the entrance exam for the concerned course and clear it. IIM Ahmedabad is the top institution for MBA course in India.
The admission process for MBA course in IIM Ahmedabad is carried out through three stages:-
1.Written Examination i.e,CAT.
2.Group Discussion.
3.Personal Interview.
So,the first stage is CAT.
CAT refers to Common Aptitude Test and conducted as an entrance test for admission in MBA course in IIMs.There are many other colleges that take admission based on CAT score.
It is conducted every year and you are eligible to appear in it if:-
1.You are in final year of your graduation.
2.You have completed your graduation from any stream.
3.Your college should be recognised.
4.There is no limitation to appear in CAT.
Since,you have just completed your 12th,so you can't do MBA from IIM Ahmedabad now.
You will have to first complete your graduation to appear in it.
However,if you want to do MBA now,you can do it because there are many colleges which offer 5 year integrated MBA course.
Some of the colleges are IIM,Indore,BIT,Mesra,etc.
There is an entrance test conducted for it.
So,you can decide what you want to do-Graduation or 5 years MBA.

I have scored 91.3% in 10th, 90.3% in 12th,79.3% in graduation and I'm working as a technocrat in a major MNC since 6 months.
What are my chances of getting a call from top IIMs( provided I get 99 percentile in CAT)? Please mention do my work experience counts?

In order to get admission in any of the IIT, you must appear for the entrance exam and clear it as well. Though there is no clarity yet about the entrance (iseet or jee) it won't matter much as it will take the same preparation to succeed on the exam.also age will be a criteria to be eligible to appear for the jee exam. if you appear next year, you should be 1992 born or later.

Hi friend
You must be aware that CAT is a highly competitive exam and in order to get through to the next round you will need atleast 99.6 percentile to be on the safer side.
About your experience, it will certainly help you in the personal interview round as the experience will enhance your profile and give better chances of making it in the IIMs.

IIM Ahmedabad is a top institute of India for MBA Course.
Admission in this college is based on entrance test called CAT (Common Aptitude Test) that is conducted every year for admission to MBA Course.

CAT is divided into three stages:

• Entrance Test
• Group Discussion
• Personal Interview

You are eligible to MBA course, if you are in the final year of Graduation Course, or if you had done your Graduation from a recognized college.
Since, you had only done 10+2, so currently you are not eligible for doing MBA course.

However, you can do MBA in some colleges. There are some colleges which run 5-year integrated course of MBA. But these are private colleges in State. You can find those colleges very easily in your nearby area.

I am sorry to say that after passing 12th you are not eligible for I.I.M Ahmadabad.

For admission in I.I.M. you have to qualify the C.A.T exam.

C.A.T exam is conducted by Indian institute of Management, Ahmadabad.

ELIGIBILITY FOR C.A.T:-
> Pass graduation with any stream with minimum 50% marks.
For ST/SC candidate minimum 50% marks is require.
> There is no age limt in C.A.T exam

No,you will not be able to take admission in IIM Ahmadabad after passing 10+2 Education.For taking admission in any IIM College you will have to get pass in CAT(Common Admission Test).

For appearing in this exam,you will have to meet these Eligibility :-

Education Qualification :-

• Your minimum educational qualification should be Graduation/Degree passed out in any stream from recognized university.

Marks :-

• If you are General/OBC Category - 50% Marks in Gradation.
• If you are SC/ST Category - 45% Marks in Graduation.

NOTE :- There is no age limit for appearing in this exam.


Exam Pattern for CAT

• It will include questions from 2 sections.
• Each sections will be of 1 hour and 10 minutes.
• Total number of questions will be 60.
• Each section will include 30 questions.

You have to perform very well in your GD and PI too.

IS IIM Ahemdabad provide facilities for BBA course?

IIM doesn't provide any course on BBA or any undergraduate course

IIM A has following course and programmes

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)
Post Graduate Programme (PGP)
Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM)
Management for Executives (PGPX)
Faculty Development Programme (FDP)
Armed Forces Programme (AFP)

You can not take admission for Indian Institutes of Management only on the basis of your marks in 12th standard. Indian Institutes of Management are top colleges in the country for Master of Business Administration course.

MBA is a 2 years long post graduation course. To apply for it through Indian Institutes of Management, you will have to complete graduation and follow it by appearing for the Common Admission Test.

Forget about taking admission for the Indian Institutes of Management without appearing for Common Admission Test. You will not be able to do so. It is absolutely necessary to clear Common Admission Test. IIMs do not offer admission without clearing it.

Therefore if you haven't already completed graduation please do so. You can complete graduation in any discipline. Then you will have to apply for the Common Admission Test.


CAT Eligibility

1. Any bachelor's degree as long as completed from recognized college.

2. 50 percent marks in degree for General/OBC.

3. 45 percent marks required for SC/ST.


The Common Admission Test takes place in October/November. You will have to score well in the exam to have any change of taking admission in Indian Institutes of Management.

No matter how good marks you have obtained in CAT, apply for admission in as many IIMs as possible. Then wait for their reply. If you get the reply then the admission procedure will begin.

It will include interview and group discussion before you will be selected by Indian Institutes of Management.

Your marks in 12th are mainly irrelevant when taking admission. However some IIMs give 10% weightage to the 12th standard marks while selecting candidates.
