How to be an IPS officer after passing B.Tech in Electrical and electronics
I did B.Tech in electrical and electronic in 2012 ? I want to be a ips officer. I dont know any proceser about this exm. How i prepare for us plz tell me about this.

To become an IPS officer, you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams

Selection of eligible candidates to IPS is done by UPSC. Selection process is carried out through prelims exam, mains exam, and interview. Graduates in any stream below 30 years of age can apply. Preparation for the exam should be made on topics like mental ability, GK, English language, and general studies. You can start exam preparation after collecting exam pattern and syllabus from UPSC portal. Reference books and previous year question papers can be used for study.

IPS - Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness. Apart from this the candidate should have minimum prescribed physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST:- Male84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. As you are pusing B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics after completion of whch you are eligible for IPS, Civil Service Exam. After completion of B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics, you are eligible to apply for the position of IPS officer.
For this you have to crack the following selection procedure. Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview This is the common written exam for the candidates to join in various civil services like Indian Administrative Service Indian Police Service Indian Revenue Service Indian Postal Service etc. Here is the required eligibility criteria for the candidates to be eligible for this exam. Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. Age criteria : -Candidates of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years. -The candidates of OBC category should be in the age group of 21-33 years. -21-35 years of age should be required for the candidates of SC or ST category. Number of attempts : -For the candidates of General category : Maximum of 4 attempts -For the candidates of OBC category : Maximum of 7 times -There is no limit on number of attempts for the candidates of SC or ST category. Only thing I suggest you is choose optional subjects for Main Exam and start preparation for the same. wish you all the best. |

You are eligible to apply for IPS officer examination as you have Engineering Graduation qualification.
To become an IPS Officer you have to crack Civil Services examination which is conducted by UPSC. There are some conditions that you have to fulfill along with the Graduation then only you will be eligible for Civil Services Examination. Age Criteria: Age must be between 21 to 30 years if you belong to General Category. There is age relaxation available to those who belong to reserved category. SC/ST - 5 years relaxation OBC - 3 years relaxation Selection Criteria: -Preliminary Exam -Mains Exam -Personal Interview You can get your choice of Service if you are high on merit otherwise you will be considered for other services. You also must have physical fitness for IPS Officer. There will be medical test and if you are fit according to standards then only you will be allowed to join as IPS Officer.
