I have taken science stream and after completion of 12th i want to be an ips what to do ? and which courses i have to study ? please help me

You can apply for the exams that is conducted for the post of IPS, only after you have completed your Graduation.
For this you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams.

Minimum Educational Qualifications- Graduation Pass

Age- Between 21 and 30 years
OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

Attempts- General candidates can give this exam just 4 times, OBC 7 times and SC/ST unlimited times.

Now you just complete your Graduation in any stream and after completion of Grduation apply for this exam.

Currently this exam is being held in three stages;
>> Prelims
>> Mains
>> Interview

In the Prelims Exams there will be two papers of General Studies

Eligibility Criteria for IPS:

Education Qualification :

You must hold a Bachelor's degree of any Recognized University.

If you are in the final year of a degree course can also Eligible.


Age limits :

You must have attained the age of 21 Yrs and must not Attained the age of 30 Yrs on 1st August,2012.

The Upper age limit will be Applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates.

Upto a maximum Five Years for Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes.

Upto a Maximum three years for Other Backward Classes.

Number of Attempts :

Four Attempts for Open.

Seven Attempts for OBC category.

No Limit for SC/ST.

Physical Fitness Is very Important for IPS Exam.

Male 165 Cm Pahari Male (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 160 Cm.

Female 150 Cm Pahari female (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 145 Cm.

WHICH STUDIES ARE REQUIRED TO BECOME AN IPS OFFICER

after takin an aptitude test the results showed that i can excel in medical field...but i have heard that arts stream is best for becoming an IPS officer...i m totally confused...i love science as a subject but apart from sudying for CET ..I TOO WOULD HAVE TO PREPARE FOR UPSC..please help..i just gave my SSC
