How much percentage is required in Intermediate exam to join CA? Also, let me know when and how to apply for CA after Intermediate?

To do CA you have to take Competency Professional Test.

Eligibility of CPT:

You must have passed class 12th exam.

You can also join ICWAI to do CA.

Intermediate Course:

Your age should not be less than 18 years.

You must have passed degree Examination of any recognised university.

Foundation Course:

You should at least 17 years of age.

You must have passed 10+2 from a recognized university.

The full form of CA is Chartered Accountancy.

There are three stages of this course:

1. Common Proficiency Test.

2. IPCC -Integrated Professional Competence course.

3. Final course.

Graduates with 55% marks in commerce and 60% marks in others are eligible for IPCC directly.

12th passed candidates can apply for CPT exam conducted by ICAI twice every year in June and December. Online application begins when notification released by ICAI.

ABOUT CA COURSE:

CA courses is mainly divided into two stages.

CPT and IPCC are the two stages of CA courses.

To appear CPT you need to have completed your 12th.

There is no age criteria also.

After clearing CPT you will be eligible to apply for IPCC.

If your graduate from recognized university with minimum of 60% then you can apply directly for IPCC without CPT.

If your from Commerce background then you need to have 55%.

The minimum academic qualification required to appear for CPT Exam is by completion of 12th class with any of the stream from a recognized college. There is no percentage of marks criteria.

This Exam consists of questions from the following subjects
Accounts
Law
Economics
Quantitative Aptitude

Once you get through Exam, you have to register for IPCC. You can take IPCC Exam 9 months after registering for it.

To be eligible for IPCC, you should have passed in CPT Exam and in 12th standard.

If you have completed Graduation, then you don't need to give CPT Exam and you can directly register for IPCC.

If you qualify in IPCC as well, then you need to do Article-ship under a Professional CA for 3 years.

You can apply for CA Final Exams during the last 6 months of your Article-ship and after successful completion of which you will be designated as Chartered Accountant.

There is good demand for Chartered Accountants in these days and moreover the job security is high compared to other fields.

CA refers to Chartered Accountancy and same is a professional degree course with a very good career scope. In order to join Chartered Accountancy course all you need to have is passed in 10+2 level of study in any stream from recognized board. There is no such requirement of percentage is needed. You only have to pass 10+2 and register yourself for the Common Proficiency Test which is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The Common Proficiency Test is an entrance examination and in order to qualify this entrance exam you need to score minimum 50% marks in an aggregate. After qualifying The Common Proficiency Test you will be able to register for the Integrated Professional Competence Course which will be followed by practical training, Computer training, and final course.

Percentage is not the criteria for doing CA if you are done with your +2 level then it is enough you are eligible for doing CA but for getting the admission you need to write an entrance exam.This exam is called as Common Proficiency Test.
Basically this is conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for selecting the deserved candidates.
Candidate who secured a minimum of 50% marks will be eligible for doing CA and you can register for Integrated Professional Competence Course which starts your CA course.You need to undergo exams and need to clear them for completing your CA.

First thing I would like to let you know that to pursue CA ( Chartered Accountancy ) course you need to first qualify CPT ( Common Proficiency Test ) followed by IPCC ( Integrated Professional Competence Course ) and the final stage course and in order to be eligible for CPT you need to have completed your Class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board of examination. There is no minimum requirement of marks to be secured in Class 12th to be eligible for CPT i.e; for pursuing CA.

No specific percentage criteria in 12th standard is required to join CA course. To get admission for pursuing CA course, you should have passed 12th standard in all subjects from a Government recognised board and you have to apply for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) examination.
