If you want to become CID (Criminal Investigation Department), then for this you have to apply for the Entrance examination conducted by SSC. There are two ways to become Criminal Investigation Department officer. The first one is direct entry from the state police force through promotion. This entry is only for Police serviceman.
Another Option is to write the SSC Combined Graduate level entrance test, this examination is conducted in two stages, Preliminary and Mains. First, you have to appear for the Tier-I (Preliminary) examination. If you have passed in Preliminary examination, then you are eligible for Mains. To apply for SSC CGL examination, your age should between 20-27 years. You must have completed your graduate degree from a recognized university to apply for this examination. You must be physically fit in all the respects to apply for this exam under CID. If you are interested to become CID Officer, then please prepare well for the SSC Preliminary examination. The examination is objective and the examination paper covers these sections, ~~ General Test ~~ General Intelligence and Reasoning ~~ General Awareness ~~ Numerical Ability. Apart from SSC CGL, Graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for UPSC Civil service examination. This examination also conducted in two stages, preliminary (CSAT) and Mains. Your age should between 21 to 30 years to apply for Civil service examination. If your aim is to join CID, then you have to appear for these examinations. To join Criminal Investigation Department, you need to crack the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level exam.
The age limit is 20-27 years for candidates of general category and upper age limit is relaxed for reserved category candidates. You must have completed your bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. How to prepare for SSC CGL: The questions asked is generally from the following areas: ~~General Intelligence and Reasoning. ~~General awareness. ~~Numerical ability. ~~Quantitative aptitude ~~Current affairs. So practice as much as possible on these areas, read newspapers, work on English Grammar and go through previous years papers . |

The entrance into Criminal Investigation Department is given through the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level exam.
Eligibility criteria for the SSC CGL: 1. Bachelor's degree in any stream or discipline from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply for the exam. 2. The age limit for CID under SSC CGL exam is 21-30 years. Candidates of reserved category is eligible for upper age relaxation. You must try to practice questions on quantitative aptitude, general awareness, general english, verbal and non verbal reasoning for better performance in this exam.
