If you want to become CID (Criminal Investigation Department), then for this you have to apply for the Entrance examination conducted by SSC. There are two ways to become Criminal Investigation Department officer. The first one is direct entry from the state police force through promotion. This entry is only for Police serviceman.

Another Option is to write the SSC Combined Graduate level entrance test, this examination is conducted in two stages, Preliminary and Mains. First, you have to appear for the Tier-I (Preliminary) examination. If you have passed in Preliminary examination, then you are eligible for Mains.

To apply for SSC CGL examination, your age should between 20-27 years.

You must have completed your graduate degree from a recognized university to apply for this examination. You must be physically fit in all the respects to apply for this exam under CID.

If you are interested to become CID Officer, then please prepare well for the SSC Preliminary examination. The examination is objective and the examination paper covers these sections,

~~ General Awareness
~~ Numerical Ability.

Apart from SSC CGL, Graduate candidates are also eligible to apply for UPSC Civil service examination. This examination also conducted in two stages, preliminary (CSAT) and Mains. Your age should between 21 to 30 years to apply for Civil service examination.
