°°° It is very important to get familiar with the syllabus of UPSC examination as the syllabus is huge. Start by simply jotting down the entire syllabus into points and divide them into sections according to your strengths and weaknesses, and then proceed with designing a study plan.

°°° Make a timetable and follow it judiciously. Draw out a time table for yourself and the time table should be a realistic 1 and do not make a time table which needs more than 10 hours of your day to dedicate to your preparation.

°°° Keep a habit of discussing all important developments that are important according to this examination point of view.

°°° Make sure you solve enough number of mock papers for both prelims and means and this is a must before you step into the exam preparation for your first attempt.

°°° In an exam like the Civil Service means studying the syllabus is not the only important thing to do. It is very important that you should have writing skills and presentation skills so that you can present your answer in the required manner.

°°° When you plan your studies make sure you have enough time on your agenda for a minimum of two revisions.

°°° Planning is always the first step towards success and to execute it the next step and it may be possible that one may not stick to the plan earlier envisaged.

How to prepare for UPSC exam if attempting it for the first time?

If you want to clear the civil services prelims in the first attempt itself, you must plan and study. To cover the vast UPSC syllabus, you must plan your day, your week and your month. You ought to have a daily routine where you spend a fixed number of hours to study.

The candidate should have completed a graduation course with a minimum of 60% marks to be eligible for the UPSC,
