Eligibility requirement for UPSC IAS :

• You must be a citizen of India.
• Your minimum educational qualification should be Bachelor degree in any discipline from state/central university.
• Your minimum age should be 21 years.
• Your age should not be above 30 years.

Eligibility requirement for PCS : This exam is conducted by the state Public Service Commission for recruitment of Administrative officers for their particular state.

• You must be an Indian Citizen.
• Your minimum qualification should be bachelor degree pass out in specified stream/degree from recognized university.
• Your minimum age should be 21 years.
• Your age should not be above 40 years.

There is no specific exam as IAS exam. To become an IAS(Indian Administrative Service) officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted every year by UPSC.

Eligibility for IAS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National.
-Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years.

There is a restriction on number of attempts to Civil Service Exam:-

General candidate - 4 attempts
OBC candidate - 7 attempts
SC/ST candidate - No such restriction

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

The Civil Service Exam can be applied through both off line and on line mode.

Through off line mode, the application can be obtained from General Post Offices across the Country.

Through on line mode, the Application Form can be down loaded from the official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com

After filling the Form properly, can be sent to designated adress with requisite fee for the exam through SBI Net Banking/Debit Card/Over the Counter.
