Is laptop necessary for studying B.Tech Mining Engineering?

I want to study B.Tech in Mining Engineering. Would I need laptop during the course? Is there any programming or any subject part which needs to be carried out on systems?

If you want to learn some extra skills related to the course then you need. As engineering drawing , basic programming skills , autocad are the most important topic for student now. These are only done by a computer.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
