Hii Friends!! Im studying in 11th standard and want to crack iitjee..i hav some books for physics and maths..
For physics i hav Hcverma..and for mathz i hav tmh..and i think that these books r enough..
But Plz suggest me some gud book for Chemistry..

I am very confused bcz rit now m in 11th n we all are having our final exams n i want score good marks in 12th board xams and also want to crack IIT-JEE but my 11th base iz not clear .I want to knw dat which book should i prefer in physics,chemistry and maths so that it will help me 2 make my base strong n i will be
able 2 crack iit n surely i will work hard if i get thr correct books n easly develop my thinking level plz help me out of this n also suggest some strategy..plz i ll work hard

But i am confused which book should i follow for chemistry and maths?

I was an IIT aspirant and I faced the same issue in the beginning. But gradually i realized that the most important thing for IIT-JEE preparation or any other competitive exam preparation requires a good grasp of the basics of each subject. So it is advisable to thoroughly follow your school curriculum as it has the basics in the simplest language possible, and the IIT-JEE books do not start from the basis root level.

I would recommend the following books for IIT-JEE:

MATHEMATICS:
1.M.L.KHANNA
2.arihant new pattern
3.A.Dasgupta(objective questions for IIT-JEE)

PHYSICS:
1.H.C.VERMA THOROUGHLY
2.HALLIDAY Resnick and walker(after H.C Verma)

Avoid I.E Irodov's "problem in physics", though people will suggest you to solve from it I can tell from personal experience that it is absolutely not required.

CHEMISTRY:
ORGANIG CHEMISTRY: MORRISON AND BOYD or R.C Mukherjee
PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:PETER ATKINS,P.BAHDUR
INORGANIC: J.D.LEE

You must also buy Arihant publisher's previous 10 years IIT-JEE solved papers and solve those towards the end as you'll get a fair idea about the paper.

Also, since the timing of the paper is pretty unusual(usually from morning to evening), it will require practice to get accustomed to the timing pattern and succeed when it matters.

IIT-JEE is the engineering entrance exam for getting admission in institutes like IITs....

You have to work hard to get into those institutes.

The best option is to join a coaching center.
Because in a coaching center you will get the environment of a school and teachers will always be there to clear your doubts and confusions.
They will take mock tests and will give you study materials and valuable tricks and notes for the exam.

So its better to join a coaching class, because self study is not enough for that.

But one thing is, there will many other students present in those centers and they will also get the same notes, study materials that you will get.

So you have to study for at least 6 7 hours a day by yourself at home...to become ahead of them.

So join a good coaching center in your city and try to join those batch which has less students, so that teachers can focus on each and every student separately......

I want to be an IITian but my family is not in support of sending me to Kota. I am being forced to study in Chandrapur,here they have started Interactive teaching live from Kota by Ables Academy. Sir,please suggest me some good books in order to be an IITian from here itself by doing regular self studies. Please help me to crack IIT from here & prove myself. Tell me some good books for scoring better in aptitude test which has 30% weightage,according to ISEET. Please guide me Sir/Mam . I'll be thankfull to you.

Hi friend

First of all, i would like to tell you that students who go to Kota do NOT necessarily succeed in their IIT entrance exam. It is only that the environment out there is such that all you can do is study(or that is what the parents have in mind). In my opinion there is no need to go out of the way to crack the IIT entrance test. These classes can only guide you in the right direction and all input has to be put by you ONLY. So it doesnt matter if you are in Kota or Chandrapur, if you have the will and determination, you will clear the JEE exam with ease.

I know people who obtain top ranks at the entrance exam by simply studying and not doing anything else. Now that the system has changed for admission in IIT, you will have to give focus to your 12th board exams as well. You can start with your school books to give you the perfect base and then look to refer other books for advanced portion required for the IIT entrance exam.

I have appeared for IIT-JEE myself and i have a fair idea of it personally. Do not think that you didnt get to go to Kota so you wont be able to do well in the IIT entrance, if you're truly willing, you will succeed for sure, take my word for that.

I would recommend the following books to you :

CHEMISTRY:

Organic Chemistry by R.C Mukherjee
Numerical Chemistry by O.P Tandon

PHYSICS:

Concepts of Physics by H.C Verma - Part 1 and 2(thoroughly, solve each and every sum in the book and you can be sure of getting 90% questions in IIT entrance correct if you are true to yourself while solving, need not refer any other book for solving)

MATHS:

Objective questions by A.Dasgupta
Arihant mathematics(thoroughly)

Do not buy too many books, just stick to few quality and reknown authors to study theory, too many books will lead to confusion and time wastage.
