Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant Exam both are conducted by the Postal Department of India. To give this examination following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied:-

## To sit for this exam you need complete higher secondary examination first from a recognized board. The subject combination does not matters here but you have to secure 60% of marks at 10+2 level.

## There are some percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates:-

i) SC/ST Candidates: 45% of marks
ii) OBC Candidates: 50% of marks

## Age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam. For general category candidates the upper age limit should not be more than 27 years.

## To work in the State you are applying you need to know well the local language of that State. This helps in communicating easily with the local residents.

## If you have studied hindi at matriculation level then it will be beneficial too.

Examination Pattern:-

Total Marks- 100
Total no. of Questions- 100
Time Duration- 2 Hours.

Subject Areas that needs special mention:-

-General Knowledge
-Mathematics
-English
-English

In addition to the written exam there will be a computer test too of duration 30 minutes. In that test for fifteen minutes you will be asked to write a passage either in hindi or english for fifteen minutes. There is a fixed typing speed you need to mention while doing that. The next test comprises of several data and figures. This exam also needs to be completed in fifteen minutes.
