Previous year question Papers Postal Assistant Exam

For Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants an examination is conducted by the Department of Postal Govt .

If you have completed 12th standard with above 60% marks then you are eligible for Postal assistant Exam .Your age should be in between 18 to 27 years old.You must know your local language very clearly .

Question are coming from General Knowledge, Mathematics, English and Reasoning & Analytical Ability section so prepare well .They conduct also computer typing skill test so be careful on it .

Postal Assistant Written Test Syllabus :

PART-A (General Knowledge): There would be 25 questions based on the current affairs, sports, economics, history, geography, constitution, Science, etc. The motive of this section in the postal assistant written exam is to test your level of general awareness and your familiarity with the upcoming issues of the country and world.

PART-B (Mathematics): The purpose of this section is to judge your comfort level with numbers and numerical skills. Your speed to find out solutions can be observed. The major areas covered under this section are simplification, number system, decimals, compound interest, profit and loss, etc.

PART-C (English): This section of the postal assistant written exam is conducted to test your language skills and comfort level in English communication related areas. This section covers areas like antonyms/synonyms, adverbs, direct/indirect sentences, tenses and other important parts of English grammar.

PART-D (Reasoning and Logical Ability): This section of the test comprises of reasoning based questions and the basic motive of this section is to judge your thinking and reasoning abilities to reach to a conclusion for any given question or situation.
Computer test typing paper: The candidates are required to type a 450 word English or a 375 word Hindi passage in the duration of 15 minutes, which would include numerical figures and letters.

For the post of Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant an examination is conducted by the Postal Department of India whenever there is a vacancy for this post.

Postal Assistant Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• For the post of postal assistant you need to complete 12th standard of a recognized board first.
  
• General category candidates at 10+2 level needs to get 60% of marks in aggregate.
  
• OBC candidates needs to get 50% of marks and SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks.
  
• The lower age limit for giving this exam is 18 years. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 27 years.
  
• To work in the postal circle of a certain State you need to be fluent in the local language of that state.
  
• Prior knowledge of having studied hindi at matriculation level or above also helps a great deal.

Examination Pattern:-

Written Examination:-

For the written examination 100 questions needs to be answered and you will get one mark for each right answer. So the total marks allotted is also 100. The whole paper has to be completed in two hours and it is mainly an objective type paper. There is no negative marking as such so the answers you don't know, you can afford to guess there in search of extra marks.

Computer Test:-

Apart from the written examination there is a computer test where you need to pass as well. It is a 30 minute test and you will be asked to type a passage by maintaining a certain speed.
