Is it necessary to repeat 11th CBSE if failed in one subject?

Hello, my son failed in one subject in 11th standard and the school is asking to repeat the same class without conducting any test. Is this correct? He is studying Intermediate course with CBSE Board. Please tell me immediately.

Yes, it is necessary to repeat 11th Central Board of Secondary Education board exam even if you have failed in one subject. You need to pass in all subjects of 11th standard to get promoted to 12th standard.

Those who have failed in 11th standard can not get promoted to 12th standard. Only 11th passed candidates can get promoted to 12th CBSE.

1. It is necessary to pass in all subjects of 11th standard to become eligible for 12th board examination..

Since you have failed in one subject of 11th standard, you can not get promoted to 12th standard. You will have to repeat it.

Yes.

~~The school is correct. It has conducted the examination and your son has not passed the exam for Mathematics.

~~You can request school for taking exam once more and then if he fails, he will have to repeat the 11th standard to appear for board exam next year.

Dear aspirant,

Every school has their own sets of rules regarding promoting of students to the next higher class.
Failing in one particular subject is generally considered by most State Boards run schools but as far CBSE curriculum school is concerned, a retest is held for the particular “failed” subject.
If you fail there will be chance for you to clear the subject.
There will be supplementary exams for those who failed in one or more subjects.
If you fail again after attempting for the supplementary exams then you have to attempt again for supplementary exams conducted next year.

There’s nothing much to worry about.

Good Luck
