1. What is the passing of IAs preliminary ?..plesae tell me the marks required

Hi Dear
That is too difficult to say that cut off mark for IAS preliminary exam
because every year different marks will cut........

PASSING MARKS FOR IAS??

There is no passing marks as such for IAS exam, the wriitten exam for IAS is just to lower the number of candidates for the next round.

-> So if the first round selection is 10,000 candidates, then the last candidate mark will be taken as the cut-off and whoever is lower than that will not be selected.

-> So it all depends upon the last person (10,000 rank) mark as the cut-off, if the question paper is tough then for sure the cut-off taken will be low..

-> Just prepare well for the exam, then for sure you can easily make it to the next round..

IAS exam is conducted through UPSC known as civil service exam......
There is know such specific mark to be pass ,The highest mark which is scored is the topper & last is the last one.

there will not be any standard cut off marks for IAS(UPSC) preliminary exam.
every year the cut off marks will be different.
if the paper is tough then the cut off mark will be low.
if they need to select say for example 1000 members then top 1000 members will be selected and the 1000th rank persons marks will be taken as the cut off marks.
generally the cut off marks varies with categery.
for general the cut off marks will be more as compared to the OBC or SC/ST.

See pass marks means cut off marks varies year wise.

Suppose this year the cut off marks is 223 then it may be in the next year more or less of 223.It is not fixed.

It completely depend up on the following two factors which are :

1. Number of students appeared in the group in which you are appearing in.
2. Maximum marks obtained in a year by a candidate.
