Postal Assistant Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• If you wish to give this exam then you need to complete your higher secondary examination from a recognized school or institution. Along with that you also have to secure 60% of marks at 10+2 level.
  
• For the reserved category candidates though there is percentage relaxation. 45% of marks needs to be secured by SC/ST candidates and 55% of marks by OBC candidates.
  
• Another important criteria is that you should have English as one of your compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
  
• While applying for this exam your age should be less than 18 years. Similarly the upper age limit is 27 years. For reserved category candidates there is age relaxation.
  
• It is expected that you will be well versed in the local language of the State of the postal circle concerned.
  
• It will do if you have studied Hindi at matriculation level or above.

Examination Pattern:-

Along with the written exam you will have to sit for a computer typing test as well. It is important to pass in both the exams to keep your chances alive. The written exam will mainly contain objective type questions. For the exam you should give importance to the following sections: General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and English. The duration of the exam is two hours.

The duration of the computer typing test is thirty minutes. The exam has been divided in two parts. For fifteen minutes you will be asked to write a passage of 400 words and the next fifteen minutes needs to be used to enter data and figures. There is a fixed typing speed to follow as well.
