IIT is Indian Institute of Technology and it is the premier institute of India for technical course.

The admission in the institute is conducted after qualifying in JEE. The examination is conducted in two stages as Main and Advanced.

The eligibility to appear for Advanced stage is that candidate must have passed Main stage and also scored more than 75% ( or in the top 20 percentile ) in board examination.

There is relaxation in aggregate for reserved category to appear for examination.

IIT refers to Indian Institute of Technology and same is considered as the top technical college in India in which admission for undergraduate technical degree course is based on the performance in JEE.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination and the same examination is held by CBSE in two stages which includes JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced and for admission IITs a candidate has to secure good rank in both the stages of JEE.

Being a CBSE board student and belonging to SC category you need to manage at least 65% marks in your Class 12th with PCM group. Even if you fail to manage 65% marks in your Class 12th but come among the top 20 percentile candidate on the basis of marks secured in board examination then also you are eligible for IIT admission.

You require only qualifying percentage in 12th to appear for Advanced stage ( 2nd stage ) of JEE.

It is mandatory to qualify in both stage of JEE stage examination to appear for admission in the IIT.

So candidates of CBSE board require minimum 75% for general category and 65% for SC category candidates.

So, if you score 65% and qualify in Main stage then you are eligible to appear for Advanced stage and after qualifying in it will be eligible to get admission in IIT.

First thing I would like to let you know that the official name of IIT ( Indian Institute of Technology ) entrance examination is JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination ).

As far as you are concerned about the minimum marks required in Class 12th to be eligible for admission in IIT or any other CFTIs then it is 75% marks ( or 65% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and PH category ). Further, the candidate failing to secure mentioned marks but still making it to the top 20 percentile candidate of his/her board of examination based on the marks secured in Class 12th are also eligible.

Admission in the IIT is conducted after qualifying in JEE. JEE is conducted in two stages as Main and Advanced.

To appear for Advanced stage the required eligibility is that :

Candidate must have passed Main examination.

Candidate must have scored minimum 75% in 12th or 65% if belong to reserved category.

So, if you will satisfy both the criteria you become eligible to appear for Advanced stage and after qualifying in it become eligible for admission in IIT.

Syllabus of IIT exam (now JEE Advanced Exam) is same for all caste groups.

However, to appear for JEE Advanced Exam, you will have to first clear JEE Main Exam that is conducted by CBSE board before commencement of JEE Advanced Exam.

Syllabus of JEE Advanced Exam is mentioned on the given link. Syllabus of JEE Advanced exam

As you are SC category candidate, so your percentage must be above 65% in XII as well as you must be in Top 20 percentile of your Board to be eligible for JEE Advanced Exam.
