The ACIO Grade II is a post in Intelligence Bureau. It is Grade C post in the agency. The exact job of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer is not known however if we go by what exactly is the role of Intelligence Bureau, it must be something to do with gathering intelligence.


After all this is what Intelligence Bureau is doing since its creation during the British India. At that time Intelligence Bureau was used by the England to monitor Russian troops movement. Later it was used during the World War 2 against Japan and other countries.

Following the independence of India, Intelligence Agency started gathering external and internal intelligence for the country. Its first big task was Pakistan. Since the creation, Pakistan was hostile against India.

However the first big test came during the India China War and this is when Intelligence Bureau failed miserbly. Following which the external intelligence responsibility was taken away by the Indira Gandhi and gave it to a new agency.


Since then Intelligence Bureau is working as an internal intelligence agency. This first major test came during the Khalistan movement followed by militancy in Kashmir. Since the rise of Pakistan sponsored terrorism in India, IB started to take more prominent role in the counter terrorism operations.

It helped in busting several terror module across India but still failed to provide sufficient information about 26/11 terror attack even through the agency claims otherwise.


Eligibility

>> Should be Indian Citizen.

>> A graduation degree in any stream.

>> Age limit is 27 years.

>> OBC - 30

>> SC/ST - 32


Preparing for the ACIO Grade II Exam is difficult considering there is very little information about the entrance exam. Besides very few coaching centers in India prepare the students for ACIO Grade II Exam. This is the reason why candidates are required to prepare on their own by collecting sample papers etc. Below is the link of previous years papers for ACIO Grade II Exam
