What are the procedures for a Humanities student to join in Indian Army and can I become an officer with my standard? Please describe, you may be the motivator of thousands of Humanities students who are eager to join but are helpless including myself.

If you have passed bachelor degree in Humanities and want to become an Officer in Indian Army then you are eligible to join through CDS entry.

NDA is an opportunity to join after 12th.

The examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted in two stages :-

Written.

SSB.

The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years for NDA, while it is 19-25 years for CDS entry.

NDA is National Defence Academy. The examination is conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in the 12th from a recognised board.

The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years.

Only male candidates are eligible to appear in the examination.

As far as you are concerned about joining Indian Army as a commissioned officer then for the same, you have basically two options one through NDA (National Defence Academy) and other through CDS (Combined Defense Services) for joining which you need to qualify their respective entrance examination held by UPSC twice every year.

Further, for joining NDA, you need to be an Indian citizen with your age lying within 16.5 years to 19.5 years. Also, you are required to have completed your Class 12th in any discipline from a recognised board of education. Physical fitness is mandatory as per the government norms.

While, for appearing in the CDS entrance examination to join IMA wing of CDS, you need to be an Indian citizen with your age lying within 20 years to 24 years. Also, you must have completed your graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognised university. Physical fitness as per the service requirement norms is mandatory in this case too.

So, being a student of Humanities stream, you are eligible to become an officer in Indian Army if you satisfy above mentioned requirements.
