On my DOB Certificate date is 20-09-1976 and on my 10th certificate is 20-09-74 .Please advise the procedure how can i correct my dob on t0th certificate.

If the date of birth provided by you has been wrongly noted by your school or the board then your date of birth can be corrected. You have to notify the school through an official letter from where you have appeared for the class 10 exam and they will proceed the matter further with the concerned board.

Hi.. all.. My wife's DOB is stated wrong on her 10th Certificate (West Bengal Board). and now school is not helping to get it correct. They are asking her parents to be present in person in order to get this done. But the problem is my in laws are not that good, where they can help in this regard. My wife needs this to get her passport.


I live out side of India and without the passport she wont be able to join me... Can any one suggest what can be done in this regard.

Helo, its a tough work!! but it can be done only if it was noted by mistake by the school, if you have provided that wrong information then its not possible!!

now just notify the school through an application !!

To change the DOB in 10th certificate, if we provide the original date of birth certificate can that help the board members to change the correct DOB. There should be some suggestion because the schools are not ready to take risk on this issue and even I see en number of people are struggling to get this corrected.

Friend if you want to change your date of birth on 10th certificate than you should give a official latter to your school from where from where you have appeared for the class 10 exam and than your school will take advance steps.

Correct DOB of my son is 22-10-1999 and all document are with school with correct detail inspite of this on the cirtificate of 10th worng DOB 22-10-1997 mention. For this we are follow up with since last one year, but there is no solution for the correction. Why the CBSE or School play with his future.

* First you have to approach your school from where you got 10th certificate , discuss with them the actual problem occured they will figure out some instructions that you should follow to solve the problem occurred .

You have to apply to the Director of Higher Education seeking correction.
It will be a lengthy procedure It is advisable to take legal help as affidavits may have to filed.

I have given all my profile correct to the school. But when I got my TC to take admission in another school the date of birth written was wrong, now what to do its 11 and I m not getting admission.

Hello friend,

If you have cleared your 10th from CBSE Board then you have to reach to your respective CBSE Board office along with an Affidavit mentioning your actual date of birth with a request application to change your date of birth. The office usually provide you a form at the office itself and you have to fill that form and provide every possible detail along with marksheet xerox copy. The corrected copy will be provided you same day by evening.

If you are not from CBSE then you have to contact your respective state board and do the same procedure.

The fees is generally 250/- for changes in the marksheet.

T.C is provided by school and if you got the T.C wrong with mistake you must visit the school for correction.

But, the date of birth mentioned in admit card (10th ) will be treated as original D.O.B.

So, if there is mistake in Admit card you must visit board office for the correction along with proof for correction.
