Age Eligibility:

You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011.

Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules.

Academic Eligibility:

You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university.

Even Final year students can also appear in ies exam, provided he/she can

provide the proof of passing the exam when ies exam (Written) result comes

out, which is around December 2011.

last date apply for the exam is already over.And the students must

civil,mechanical,electrical,electronics the student only eligible for the ies exam

and you not fill the forms.you miss the chance apply the next year.i am

Indian engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by the UPSC in every year. IES exam is one of the high level exam of India.
A) Educational qualification:
1. A candidate must have a degree in engineering from a recognize university in the electronics, electrical, civil, mechanical branch. The computer science and IT student are not eligible for IES exam.
2. A final year B.tech student can also apply for IES exam.
B) Age qualification:
1. For general category student the age must between the 21 to 30 years.
2. For OBC/SC/ST student the maximum age relaxation as per government rule.

1.minimum qualification graduation in engineering in four engineering department with 60% marks in engineering.

Minimum Education Qualification required for IES exam
you must have:

- obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or

- Obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or

- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.

The exam is conducted for candidates who have done their engineering in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

The exam consists of 3 stages namely:

Written test.
Personality Test.

• The candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
• The candidates must have completed their degree in engineering from a recognized university.
• The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply.

Its conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to recruit fresh engineers for the various posts and vacancies in the Government of India jobs.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria's for applying in the IES are :


1. You should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech from a recognized college or university with a minimum 50% aggregate in it.

2. A relaxation of 5% is provided to the SC/ST/OBC.

3. M.E/M.Tech students can also apply. And the final year appearing students too.

4. Your age should be within 21-30 years if you are a GEN candidate. Otherwise relaxation of 3-5 years is given in the upper age limit for the OBC/SC/ST candidates.

and also P.G student of engineering.

IES stands for Indian Engineering service.UPSC conducts the IES exam every year.

Eligibility for IES:

Nationality:Indian
Age:Your age should in between 21-30 years.
Educational qualification:You have to pass the engineering from any recognized university.Or
Obtained a degree/Diploma in engineering from recognized university.

Physical standards:

The candidate must physically fit according to the physical standard admission to engineering service examination as per guide lines.
