For joining Indian Army as an officer UPSC conducts two different examinations i.e; NDA entrance examination and CDS entrance examination with different requirement of degree courses and other eligibility criteria.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy where as CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and both these examinations are organized two times every in two stages which includes Written examination followed by SSB ( Service Selection Board ) interview.
