Pl. tell me what is the age limit for Cs cource.

Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary Education can join for CS course. Minimum age limit required for admission is 17 years. There is no upper age limit. Graduates can join directly to intermediate level. Duration of intermediate course is 9 months at least.

For CS course that is Company Secretary . minimum qualification required is 10+2 level of exams or its equivalent from any recognized university or boaqd.
There is no age limit . Once the candidate is passed 10+2 exams he/ she may apply for the CS course which is conducted by ICSI(The Institute of Company Secretaries of India )
which regulates the proffession of company secretaries.
Topics or syllabus under CS which covers are :
1} Economics & Statistics.
2} Financial Accounting .
3} English & Business Communication .

CS stands for the Company Secretary. It is important for any company in India with capital of more than Rs 5 crore to have appoint a CS. The role of Company Secretary is to ensure that the company is complying with all the rules and regulations of central government as well the state government.


Company Secretary works closely with the board of directors of the company. He/She advices the board of directors and Chairman on issues such as corporate, legal, secretarial, administrative, tax etc.


Company Secretary also implements the decisions of the board of directors. He also works as mediator between the company and government or law enforcement agency. Company Secretary also keeps the list of shareholders of the company and interact with them on the behalf of the board of directors.


The Company Secretary course is offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries Of India (ICSI). There is no upper age limit for admission. However you should be at least 17 years to at the time of applying for Company Secretary.


You also need to complete 12th standard for admisison in the first stage of CS which is Foundation Course. However if you have completed graduation, you can get direct admission for the second stage called Intermediate Course.

CS - Company Secretary, is a vital post in an Limited Company who advises the Board of Directors regarding Legal matters of the Company for its smooth running.

The CS course is managed and conducted by ICSI(Institute of Company Secretary of India), is a correspondence course and can be taken in any time of a year.

The CS course is divided in to three Programs:-

-Foundation Program
-Executive Program
-Professional Program

There is no upper age limit for application to CS course. However the candidate should be 17 years at the time of applying for the Foundation Program.

The candidate having completed 12th in any stream from a recognised Board is eligible to apply for Foundation Program.

The candidate having completed Foundation Program or having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University is eligible directly for Executive Program.

The candidate having completed Executive Program is eligible for Professional Program.

The duration of CS course depends upon a candidate as how early he is completing the course followed by a compulsory 15 months practical training before being certified as a Company Secretary.
