Just an update. From this year, NTPC and many other PSU's have decided to cancle their own examinations and have taken a decision that they would recruit candidates based on the score of GATE.

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. So you can apply to this exam in the final year of your graduation and after.

If you get a good rank, then you can apply for NTPC online.
