Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
IIT JEE EXAM
There is not any short cut for the IIT JEE Maths exam. As you know IIT JEE is one of the toughest exam of engineering and you should have to go through each and every topic if you want to clear the IIT JEE exam. You should do one thing if you feel that Maths is difficult for you. Try to study that topics more which covers most part of your paper. I mean to say study that topic first which has higher weight age. Its good to concentrate on the following topics for your Maths paper 1.Integration 2.Differentiation 3.Permutations and combinations 4.Analytical geometry 5.Quadratic equations So if you study these topics only around 70-80 percent of your Maths syllabus will cover from these. |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
As far as maths is concerned there is no shortcut for Mathematics,
all you can do is work hard, Don't be tensed. If you are not able to study then join any coaching institutes, you can go for the firms like Kaysons Education, they provide video lectures, test, Assignments, Online Assistance. Their material is really very good helping you to prepare for boards & JEE together. These guys are really awesome , the tips and tricks that they share in their community seems to be very effective. also i can suggest a good book - R.D.SHARMA (for theory and practice) and PURUSHOTTEM KUMAR-OBJECTIVE (it must be for practice) |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
Tricks and Tips !!
See the way to Go out of this issue is Only practice, Don't think much about Shortcut tricks because some times they do fails. There are Some Tricks and Tactics For Example :- To solve Partial Differentiation you need to Solve it by chain rule. Limits Problem should be solved by L-Hospital Rules. But listen Try to solve as many problems you can ! Because If you try hard for practice they familiar Questions gets answer in few seconds in the Exams. But if you Go for Short cuts then they need some manipulations to Solve them.. I must say Go for practice and Hard work, You will really succeed in your Aim. As during practice it will take time, But Excessive practice of same kind of questions make you More confidant and Passionate.. Above these Short Cuts will accessed only through Coaching Study Materials some Good Coaching Institutes are FIITJEE, TIME, SRI CHAITANYA , BANSAL , CAREER LAUNCHER etc. |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
HELLO FRIEND,
Mr Vijay Joglekar (Joglekar Methematics Centre) from Ujjain (M.P.) who has developed magic tricks to solve maths problems for IIT JEE , AIEEE, and a few state CET exams. A review of these claims followed by actually looking at their sample tricks (one can have a sample of the Joglekar’s magic trick from iitjeeaieeedotcom. Moreover, it will be worthwhile to buy 5-10 mock tests (the ones that give hints/solutions as well), solve them yourself and then check the shortcut way to solve them. There are many such resources available online that provide mock tests with shortcuts solutions. After going through a lot of such tricks, I concluded that these tricks can be useful as they all are originating from commonsense achieved by reading/teaching the subject for years. One example of magic tricks for solving algebraic eqn is to start solving it with one variable (x,y,z) value of 1, -1 & 0. My sense is that about 5 questions from IIT JEE and about 10 questions from AIEEE maths can be easily solved in minutes by applying these tricks. This could potentially add 10-15 marks in JEE and 20-25 marks in AIEEE . These additional 15 marks can bring up IIT JEE rank from 5000 to 3500 (or from 1500 to 1000) . In AIEEE, additional 25 marks can bring up the rank from10000 to 5000 (or from 2000 to 1000 at top end). There are a couple of videos on youtube on the success of Joglekar’s magic tricks. Watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZBAjl02MJM Conclusion: These tricks can be very useful in improving rank in engineering entrance exams. Moreover, they are available at tiny cost starting from Rs 500. They are useful guide for the students to solve the Maths problems with minimum calculations to increase speed and accuracy to score high under time limitation. However, such trick material should be used as icing on the cake and should not be confused with the cake itself. good luck. |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
My advice from Math. experience is: for the calculations, if any required, use vedic mathematics. This suggestion suits you only if you are in the preparatory stage with lot many days left for your exams. Skill in this is not acquired over night.
Apart from this keep practicing problems. Even same problem try solving in many different ways. That would help you improve your problem solving skills and not to stick to the first idea that comes to your mind on seeing a question (which some times could prove fatal). All the IIT aspirants out there, the competition is tough. But it is tough for all. So please do not panic. Be among the top few who get through from the same mass of aspirants. That would make the difference of being someone who succeeded and someone who aspired for. |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
Here are few mathematical shorcuts to solve probs asked in IIT-JEE....
1. (IIT 04) then the interval in which 'a' lies is (a)a<-5 (b)-5<a<2 (c)a>5 (d)2<a<5 Comment: the alternatives do no have a common value. Put a convenient value for a. Let us try : a=0. Then Therefore, (b) is the correct answer!!! 2. (AIEEE04) The domain of the function is (a) [1,2) (b) [2,3) (c) [1,2] (d) [2,3] Comment: Look at the alternatives: Neither (a) nor (c) is the correct ans. bçoz x=1,does not exist. now he prob reduces to whether 3 belongs to domain or not. When x=3, denominator = 0. Hence, (b) is the ans. 3. (IIT 2K) The domain of function y(x) given by is (a) [0,1] (b) (0,1] (c) (d) Comment: When x=1, 2+2^y = 2 is not possible. Hence, (a) and (b) are not the ans. Now, put the value for x betn. (0,1) and check. That is cumbersome. Therefore don't think this kind of technique works for every prob. 4. (IIT 05) In any triangle ABC (with usual notations of the sides a,b,c) (a) b-c/2 sin A = a cos A (b)(b-c) cos A/2 = a sin B-C/2 (c)b+c/2 cos A/2 = a sin B-C/2 (d)(b+c) cos A/2 = 2a sin B+C/2 Comment: Try an isosceles triangle in which b=c, i.e. B = C. Take (b): 0 =0 ; no other alternatives satisfy them. 5. A hyperbola having transverse axis of length , is confocal with the ellipse Then its eqn. is (a) (b) (c) (d) Comment: The hyperbola in (a) alone has 2 sin 0 as the length of the transverse axis and hence (a) is the correct ans. 6. (IIT 2K) If are complex numbers such that =1, then Iz,1 + z,2 + z,3I is (a) equal to 1 (b)<1 (c) >3 (d) equal to 3 Comment: Put . It satisfies the given condition and hence (a) is the ans. 7. (IIT 01) If a+b = pi/2 and b+c=a, then tan a equals (a) 2(tan b + tan c) (b) tan b + tan c (c) tan b + 2 tan c (d) 2 tan b+ tan c Comment: Put a=b=pi/4, then c=0. Tan a = 1. Hence, (b) or (c) is the correct ans. Suppose a = 22 1/2, then b = 67 1/2. Then c=-45. Then tan b + tan c = . Hence, (c) is the ans. Best of luck. |

Re: Shortcut tricks for IIT JEE Maths?
Shortcut methods can be easily learned by practicing a lot of sums.
You yourself will come out with shortcuts if you solve a lot of problems in each topic but don't solve the problems for searching the shortcuts it will be waste of time and you may become disappointed after sometime. For a simple example when you were a kid you used to add 7+2 by counting your fingers But now you have done it so many times that you can answer without thinking , your mind has developed a shortcut method to do it. THATS THE TRICK -practice a lot!!! Note: Refer to Arihant books and Career Points study material , you might get good tricks for some specific kind of problems. |

short cuts for IIT-JEE
it is not necessary to waste time for searching short cuts for problems since in 3hrs it is possible to do the method for questions because only questions are limited even though the competitive world has given many chances for this like coaching centers and materails and TMH and arihant series books are good |
