Gate evaluation can be done in 3 ways One is marks obtained out of 100 , Secondly Gate Score out of 1000 & All India Rank.

Last Year Call made from IIT's to those Guys, who's All India rank was below 300 and From NIT's to those, who's All India Rank near or below 1k

To get inot the IIT's with a good subject you should have a rank within 300 and marks around 55.
So you have to work very hard for that.
