The eligibility for the coming gate 2012 has been changed.
In the previous year gate 2011 exam even the 3rd b.tech students are eligible to write the exam but in the coming gate 2012 exam only 4th year b.tech students and passed out students are eligible to write the exam.

so if you are a 3rd students then you got no chance to appear for gate 2012.you can appear for gate 2013.

If you are a 4th year student and want to apply now then apply for it the submission dates have been extended.
1. Last date for Submission of Online Application (website closure at 23:00 Hrs): 21st October 2011 (Friday).
2. Last date for the receipt of printed version of ONLINE Application at the respective zonal GATE Office: 28th October 2011 (Friday).
