Re: Which stream to choose after 10th to join CBI?
There are two ways to join the CBI. First one is through SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level).
SSC : This examination is forked into three stages i.e prelims, mains, descriptive. Prelims : It will be of 200 marks and there will be four section one of Reasoning, one of Mathematics, one of General Awareness, one of English Language. Each section will be of 50 marks and time will be given 1 hour. Mains : It will be of 400 marks and the main subjects will be Mathematics and English Language. You will get 2 hours for each. Descriptive : It will be of 100 marks and 1 hour. Basically it is a test of your writing skills. For Sub-Inspector in CBI you have to score around 540-550 out of 700. Second way is through UPSC CSE (Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination). This exam is forked into three stages as well : Prelims : It will be of two paper i.e General Studies and CSAT Mains : It will be of 9 papers out of which 2 are qualifying Interview : It will be of 275 marks. You have to secure rank around 180-200 to be in IPS which will be posted in CBI/NIA/IB etc. -You can choose any stream as minimum qualification is a bachelor degree in both the cases. For preparation you can take coaching from institutes such as vajiram, insight, chaitanya etc. |

CBI full form is Central Bureau of Investigation.
There are two types of exams to go in CBI. One is 10+2 level and other is graduate level. To go in CBI you need to qualify the exam that will be organised by the govt. You may go also in CBI via SSC CGL exam held every year . You may apply after completion of graduation. |

Re: Which stream to choose after 10th to join CBI?
Let me make it very clear to you that if you want to become an CBI officer then you have to clear SSC-CGL exam first. Without clearing SSC it is not possible.
Minimum education qualification required for SSC-CGL exam is graduation. Course doesn't matters. So you can do graduation in any course. Thus you can select any stream in school for 12th standard. The only thing to do now is to concentrate on your studies and complete your 12th & graduation degree with good marks. |
