For most of the jobs into government sectors (Central Government) including public sector Banks, the maximum age limit for candidates belonging to General Category is 30 years whereas, for candidates belonging to Sc/St category, the age limit is relaxed upto five years and for candidates belonging to OBC category, it is relaxed upto three years.
So, in case of departments which comes under the central government, you will be only considered for jobs, provided you belong to Sc/St or OBC category.
As far as Jobs under state government is concerned, for most of the entrance exams conducted by public service commission of respective states, the maximum age limit for candidates belonging to general category may range from 35 years to 40 years, depending upon the department, post and ofcourse, the state.
