158 marks are good but combined with OBC category it makes you eligible for NIT.

you may not find your favorite branch but you may get a good or decent college with decent branch.

So nothing to worry about.

Also VIT Vellore is good for placement
major recruiter is cognizant, TCS etc
It recruit all the candidates of VIT at 3.5 lakhs CTC

Few get good package as well in other good company
