Depends on the country you are talking about.

In the US, the minimum age is 17 with parental permission. Maximum age varies from service

to service and can be as low as 28 for the Marine Corps to a high of 42 for the Army.

The age limit to join the army is 17 years of age. You also require to have a minimum grade

C/2 in English language, maths and either a science or a foreign language in addition to

passing a full Army medical check.
