IAS exams are conducted by UPSC every year.
DETIALS OF UPSC IAS EXAM: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IAS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. IAS services means INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES and to become an IAS officer one has to apply, appear and crack the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC every year.
The minimum age limit for IAS services is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years for General candidate. The upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ST candidate for 5 years i.e. they can apply for Civil Services exam up to 35 years, which is relaxed for 3 years in case of OBC candidate i.e. they can apply for the same up to 33 years of age. Besides these age criteria, the candidate applying for IAS of Civil Service Exam must be an Indian National having academic qualification as Graduation in any stream of education from a recognised University. IAS STANDS FOR INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE WHICH IS CONDUCTED BY UPSC. AGE LIMIT FOR IAS EXAM 2013;- Age Limit;- A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2013 The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable: (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. (iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989. (iv) upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof: (v) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2006 and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st August, 2006) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or (iii) on invalidment. (vi) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2006 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.To become IAS officer,you should fill the civil service exam.This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year once.
To appear for Civil Service exam,you should have completed minimum graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university and your age should be between 21 to 3o years(if you belong General category),21 to 33 years(if you belong to OBC category),21 to 35 years(if you belong to SC/ST/PD category). If you fulfill with this criteria,then you can fill this year Civil Service application form.For more details,then see this attachment. |
