If your question here specifies to the Clerk exams for banks them there is some good news because SBI has announced some BACKLOG vacancies for 3100 clerks.
If you come fall under the OBC/SC/ST or if you are from Northeast states then you can go ahead.
However SBI is more likely to announce vacancies even for the General candidates vet soon for the clerks.

Here are the details for the clerk vacancies of SBI(BACKLOG)-:

Last date to apply-21/01/2012.

Written Test- 18/03/2012.

Age limit- 18- 28 years.

Educational qualifications-Should be graduate in discipline or 12th or Diploma with 60%.

Online registrations- 28/01/12 to 20/01/12.

Reserve Bank Of India announced new rules

1.conduct the exam for all the banks-- only once in the year
2.Result will be announced
3.after result each candidate getting separate mark sheet
4.mark sheet validity is 1 year
5.if any bank asking particular posting you will eligible to attend interview directly
6.no need to attend other kind of entrance exam
7.but this exam is conducted yearly once
8.in the year of 2011 onwards this method can be followed
9.2011 exam was conducted for 15 banks coordinately
10.2012 exam dates will be announced as soon

Your question is not specific to which clerk entrance exam you want to know. But if it is about Bank clerk then recently State Bank of India announced recruitment of above 3000 post for clerks for bank.

The last to apply for this post is 21.01.2012 and the written test will be held on 18.03.2012.

One who has completed graduation degree or 12th or Diploma pass with 60% marks within the age of 18 to 28 years belongs to SC/ST/OBC can apply for this exam.

The registration for this exam is held through on line only.

For your information SBI clerk exam form are available at this time you can apply for this exam.Eligibility criteria for SBI clerk exam is that you have scored 60% marks in 12th.this exam is only for SC/ST and OBC category student.general category student can't apply for this exam.

IBPS also conducts entrance exam for Clerk.this exam conducted Twice in a year.you can also apply for this exam.

There is no ongoing recruitment of clerk in any bank . Hope it will start soon from some banks. Visit job portal websites for upcoming notifications.
