What is the difference between production engineer and mechanical engineer?


Sir/madam,
I am going to appear counselling on 29th of this month.. its little bit confusing me that what is difference between a production engineer and a mechanical engineer? which is best for sirls in this?

production engineering deals with the manufacture of machine parts while mechanical engineering deals with the working of the assembled machine which is nothing bt the assembly of machine parts

I had completed my first semister from gndec ludhiana where I have ece branch and I have also get admission in thapar university by December test in production engineering. ...( there I have to clear all subjects of 1 sem by taking additional sub in each sem ) .,,, which option is best ,,, im planning of doing masters abroad or going for ias ips
